Ive always thought that kicking the ball really hard at the goal was a tactic we ought to try some time
We've had a few defenders that seemed to be half way there at times. Kevin Ellison could trap a ball harder than I can kick it. The direction was as predictable as the ball in a roulette wheel though.
True story, years ago i was working in Cott and went to Millhouse to watch them train. You could drive into the training ground then, to be fair the works van was better than some of the players cars. They were playing 7v7 summat like that. Every time Ellison got the ball he boomed it about 40 yards up in the air miles over the goal. Johnny Wilkinson would have been impressed.
I wanted to see that, but what I saw was him giving it away a lot. Great player for a club like ours, but tonight showed the gulf between being a good City player and an England player.
