True. Just seen some of the chants they're making up on the WSU facebook site. It'll be good if they get them going. There are some others that are different and i've never heard at a match anywhere else before, ie the tarts for tower, we don't care about Pearson, he doesn't care about me song, 01482 Hull (not great), and as you said the she'll wearing black and amber when she comes chants are different. It's good they're all Hull centric, rather than the boring c'mon you 'ull chant. We just need to mix it up with better ones about the players. I'm suprised how many teams started singing a variation of mauled by the tigers with hand movements. I remember hearing the Everton's fans version in the league cup a few years ago at the KC. Considering how many people called it ****e and gay on the internet, i thought the reaction was quite funny.
It does annoy me how all our new songs are robbed off other teams. Loads of clubs have been doing what we're trying to with Mclean and although it's quite amusing, doesn't really work. The same for this "we follow Hull City ... That's the way we like it, we like it... Ohhhhhhhhh" which is stolen off Palace or someone I think. You just get people humming for ages until the actually "ooooohhhhhh" bit. In addition, I'm pretty sure I heard us try and copy Man City's Mancini song against Peterborough. "He comes from Italy, to play for Hull City, Mannone, ohhh, Mannone" Wish we'd be a bit more original, I like the 01482 chant for it's randomness and the way you always get some joker shouting their different dial-in codes thinking it's comedy gold
I'd rather do what we have done and sign emerging players from the English leagues like Swansea and Norwich.
We were singing the Manonne song with Jay Simpson on his debut against Watford last season, and Manonne one was definitely sung at Forest away, if not before.
Mauled by the tigers is one of the best chants out there. Opposition fans are so stupid they don't understand the irony of it, they make comments about the masculinity of it as if we are trying to look intimidating I didn't realise anyone had copied it, shame we don't get to sing it much these days! In fairness, the Mannone one isn't copied from anyone else. We sang it about Ray Parlour a few years ago (He trains with Arse-nal, he'd rather play for 'Ull) but I'm not sure about the exact lyrics of Mannone's version.
Actually, I don't think they are. We have chants for a decent amount of the team, and there are only so many ways that a players name can be worded into a tune. One of the problems is that people don't know the words so just clap along or do the loud bits, like the oh oh oh ohhh song.
