English tv money ruined our league , any young decent player coming through is off to chase the money down south , how can a nation of 5 million compete against one of over 50 million . For years we did but the financial barrier now is a joke .

On the contrary, our hearts go out to these other Scottish clubs.

They don't stand a chance god dammit!

    Of course it did mate.

I mean the English game is awash with Scottish talent that came chasing the English pound.

    <laugh>

You're national team's full of English players due to there being hardly any decent larkers north of the border.

Stick to taking heroin and eating haggis.

    It's what you do best.

While I agree that finances seriously restrict scottish football, coupled to the fact that the SFA made the F.A. look like the epitome of professionalism, you can't deny that the old firm and its pathetic sectarianism hasn't strangled the life out of the rest of scottish football.

From what I've seen of him, Samaras makes Pele look ****e in about 1 in 10 matches, but for the other 9 you'd be just as well having a donkey on the pitch.

    haha, that's pure delusion.

What ruined the Scottish league was the massive disparity between the old firm & the rest.

The SPL had the Sky TV revenue before the English did, but the product you offered simply ceased to offer enough to the broadcasters to sustain the cash it was receiving, as it was a boring as ****, totally uncompetitive & of no real interest to anyone outside of Glasgow.

Did I actually see someone defend the SPL's attendances by saying they're better than the 3rd and 4th tier in England? If that's the aspiration for competition there's no wonder nobody gives a **** about it. It's a shame because the few fans that do go to the smaller club's games are just like the lower league fans in England in the way they approach things.

    The problem is

No matter how hard they try

Inverness, mother well hibs etc will never win the league so there really is no excitement, you play the same 11 teams over and over

One team comes up and almost always goes straight back down

Rangers going down has bit changed anything if not hampered the teams in the lower leagues as the automatic spot is now guaranteed to be rangers until they are back in the spl where they will contest the top two between celtic

What excitement is there for fans

Aberdeen who average around 11,000 should be commennded

The sfa need to do something

If everybody was bothered about Hull why were your averages 3500 to 6000 in the 90 's , no sugar daddy and no sky tv money your crowds would probably be the same as they were then . I saw your fans on sky getting on their busses going to the Arsenal away game, the people you saw , you would expect to meet in local library or bump into doing the weekly shopping , definetly didn't look like football fans to me .

Our attendances averaged 16,847 the last season we spent in the fourth tier, no sugar daddy and and no Sky money.

You're hilarious. Please, please, please continue attempting to defend the SPL. It's cracking me up!

And you're earlier posts about attendances, because of the Hillsborough Disaster, Stadiums weren't allowed to go over their Capacity so we couldn't get anymore than 15,000 in Boothferry after a certain point, but before that we did manage to cram 40,000 odd into it. Not bad.

Besides, there's so many more football clubs in England, meaning attendances will be spread around more whereas in Scotland, you either support Rangers or Celtic. Now Rangers are making their way up the Scottish Football League ladder to return to the SPL, the SPL remains a pointless League that Celtic will win every year until Rangers return. Then it's between 2 teams... <laugh>

It's not a LEAGUE at all. It's just Rangers vs Celtic time and time again.

In regards to your comments about the Champions League, you very, very rarely get out of the Group stages, and when you manage to, you get smashed in the Round of 16. When was the last time Celtic went anywhere near the quarters of the Champions League, do enlighten me...

Yeovil Town would qualify for the Champions League if you stuck them in the SPL FFS. The SPL is made up of players that aren't good enough for the English League's or players that have developed their game whilst over there before being brought into the English League's to play more competitively.

    Jog on.
