I think the current role restricts Gini - once he can play in a more attacking role, then I think we'll see the best of him.

The encouraging thing is that we're scoring goals all across the team. Firmino, Coutinho, Sturridge, mane and now Lallana chipping in .

 

I disagree, he went missing when pushed further forward, in the current role he's more involved in the game, both defensively and in attack where he can make those late runs into the box which are hard for the opposition to track, he plays higher up the pitch, those late runs are few and far between and easier to deal with.
Also, given the players we have in the front 3 positions, I don't see what he can do better than them, he's not got the guile of Coutinho, not the all round game of Firmino, Not the pace of Mane, not the finishing skills of Sturridge and not the physical attributes of Origi.. he's fine where he is!

 

When there are players like Wijnaldum Sissoko and others I wonder whether they were fully committed to Newcastle or using Newcastle
as stepping stone.. They are international players in their own rights.

 

Shouldn't that be "and now Mane and Lallana chipping in"? Afterall, Mane wasn't scoring for us before this season either.

 

Mane didn't have the opportunity to score for us last season. Lallana did, hence why I separated the two.

Is he good enough to push his way ahead of any of Coutinho, Firmino, Mane, Lallana or Sturridge in the front 4 attacking positions though? I don't think you could justify taking one of them out to put Wijnaldum in.

He got goals for Newcastle because he played as a 10? Just behind the main striker? Also, because they didn't have has many options as us up top!
He's not been bought as a 10, Klopp see's him as a 7, Box to Box, I'm afraid that dream Jimmy had of Gini (Did he dream of Gini?) playing behind our main striker/False 9 isn't gonna happen!
Also, once Can is back, the lad, although he doesn't deserve to be, may find out he's playing the odd game from the bench!

Same here, currently its not broke so I'd expect Can to get his chance because someone's either Injured, suspended or off form..

 

lol wouldn't say it's a dream - it's trying to figure out his best position. I think and Lallana could rotate in that advanced CM role once Can comes back.

I agree with Gez that Can comes straight back into the team and leads our midfield.
