Georgia v Wales Tournament - World Cup Qualifiers Date - Friday, 6 October 2017 Kick off - 17:00 Venue - Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena, Tbilisi Wales continue their campaign to qualify for the World Cup Finals in Russia in 2018 when they travel to Tbilisi for Friday night's match against Georgia. Victory would keep Wales in second position in Group D, ahead of next Tuesday's crucial home match against the Republic of Ireland. Group leaders Serbia are 4 points clear of Wales and are likely to win the Group. Wales currently have 14 points from their 8 matches in Group D, whilst Georgia have just 5 points. However, Wales would be foolish to take victory for granted as they have not beaten Georgia in any of the previous 4 encounters between the teams, having lost the first 3 fixtures but managing a 1-1 draw in the home Group qualifying match 12 months ago. That result was a setback for Wales' World Cup qualifying campaign as a sloppy display saw them held by lowly Georgia. Gareth Bale headed the hosts into an early lead but Georgia, ranked at that time 137th in the world, equalised as an unmarked Tornike Okriashvili nodded in. Wales unravelled from that point and were lucky not to lose as their opponents squandered several late chances with Valeri Kazaishvili hitting the bar. Looking ahead to Friday evening, Wales will need to play much better than they did at home. Do that, and they will win. However, play as they did in Cardiff and they could lose. I'm forecasting a nervy 2-1 victory for Wales, setting up a winner takes all clash against the Republic next Tuesday.
Bail OUT and the Irish are dancing in the streets. Personally I think we have a decent team wihout him. We'll find out for sure over the next two matches.
In terms of team play, I find Ramsey is more important. In terms of creating a magic moment then Bale is the man. I certainly feel we can still win both games.
Sad Bale is not playing but i'm not too worried as he has been poor for quite a number of games....Our wonder kid will save us...
England qualified but they as usual got lucky and once they come up against a decent team they will be knocked out in the first round again....
Close to kick-off & getting increasingly anxious. C'mon Wales, let's make another step towards ending 60 years of World Cup hurt..
Should be 4-1 up. We are playing well but we are suspect at the back with Ash the main culprit.....We need to be more clinical in the front in making sure we hit the target more...
We've set it up. Hopefully the Republic will fail to win tonight, but not really likely. All go Monday night in Cardiff. Maybe Serbia can fvck up too!!
