Needs replacing with new central defender
Think we need four/five new signings goalkeeper-defenders-midfielders-Another striker.
Hang on that doesn’t make sense, back to his old self according to you but he’s been made captain. Please explain the logic
Alongside who? , who will partner his replacement, and who else will be cover for CB?
You'll all get there in the end about Vyner, he's only decent in the oppositiion's box.
He hasn't improved at all, he's just remained fit, stayed in the side as our only right footed CH because of Kalas's injury woes.
Much as I rate both Kalas and Williams I wouldn't be renewing their contracts either.
If NP's serious about a playoff push next season we'll need 3 defenders and 2 midfielders.

Atkinson has a ACL injury, he’s not going to be at full fitness for the beginning of next season, it’s not the first injury he’s had this season either. If we get rid of Kalas, we’ll need to replace him, you’re suggesting we get rid of Vyner as well?, that’ll leave us with just Atkinson, who will be getting over his ACL.
Vyner has proven himself to be a decent championship defender, I can’t see us getting rid of him personally. We aren’t going to bring in two championship ready defenders. Even if we could find 2 better than Vyner how much do you think they’d cost, and what wages would they want?
Down to Nige to sort out with his scouts and SL If he still owns the club next season.
His lack of pace concerns me, and will limit the level he can play at. I don't see him ever being higher standard than where he is now.
He also makes a lot of mistakes, but for some reason doesn't incur the same rath for them as Vyner does from some on here. The reality is, they are both probably playing at the highest level they will ever reach, so neither, it seems, probably have what it takes to go to PL level, and if that is our aspiration, they will need to be replaced in the staring 11 at some point.

The problem is - and has been for years - you either pay top dollar for an established Championship player with Premiership potential, or you take a punt on an unknown and hope you’ve unearthed a diamond.
The 3rd option are our academy products - which to be fair have delivered of late.
There’s no magic bullet. It’s shrewd buying, good scouting, great training and a lot of luck.
