Think it did yesterday mate, the reports earlier in the week were false I believe but seems there was some graffiti sprayed on it yesterday.
I've got you on ignore. Must be some technical issue that explains why I can still hear your snide whining and desperate pleas for attention.
... but that's not what they are protesting at all ... it is the brutal public execution of a member of the public by the very people employed to keep the peace ... an occurrence that happens all too often in the US and for which the police officers seem to get acquitted when it involves a black person.
I read about the Cenotaph being vandalised and supposedly ‘desecrated’ after the first marches in midweek. Only it was fake news spread by far right social media bobble heads. https://www.mylondon.news/news/zone-1-news/police-dispel-rumours-cenotaph-being-18360724 Many of the same accounts also posted pictures of a statue of Robert Lee the Confederate General in Virginia claiming it was London. I saw online one BLM slogan scrawled on the Cenotaph from yesterday, whilst completely stupid imo, that’s one dickhead with a spray can, and not representative of the huge majority of the largely peaceful protest.
Couldve been a McDonald's for all they care imo, just happened to be down that way so "statues gonna get it". Peeps who are deeply offended by that are flag wavers, flag waving is ignorance. Imo anyway.
I'm not deeply offended, just think it's a ****ing idiotic thing to do that isn't gonna help the cause.
Yeah but did you hear about how the police allowed mosques to stay open for fear of offending Muslims except that didn’t happen either.
agent provocateurs there’s definitely an agenda to derail the BLM movement and turn the narrative to ‘rioters and looters’ that need suppressing. basically trump’s campaign strategy
Stupid if true. But can you do any better than "I think", and "it seems"? Every time there is a demonstration in Westminster, the media is all over the Cenotaph and Churchill's statue looking for a story. If they've got one this time, where is it?
As do I. I dont think that's why Sweats is annoyed though. Some darkie spray painted the sacred concrete carving of someone who saved many lives and also ended many. But that bit of concrete was from his bit of soil and Yeh well.
I’m in no frenzy. I just quite simply find that a bunch of people in this country start a riot about a black serial criminal dying at the hands of the police in America. As an excuse to just try and **** things up. I’m not trying to belittle the mans death as it was disgraceful and truly sad to watch. If black lives matter then there are other things going on in the world which are far worse. As for being disgusted by vandalising war memorials seems the most illogical thing ever they are desecrating the memory of the very people who fought the freedoms we now enjoy. The stupidity is mind blowing. Not withstanding the very fact that black people are more susceptible to Covid and they now will be responsible for killing their own relatives from it as a consequence of causing a riot about a black bloke being killed that held a gun to a pregnant woman’s stomach while his mates robbed her house.
Graffitiing war memorials is always a bad idea and it’s always going to enrage people. putting the issue aside of who exactly did it and for what agenda (because there are people who definitely want to derail the BLM movement) attacking inanimate objects is side issue compared to police attacking people.
Independent article ref yesterday - https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/uk-black-lives-matter-protests-police-horses-charge-london-george-floyd-a9552776.html?amp Think Tobes has posted one about the earlier ones being false. I used that language as I can obviously never know for certain. You or Sucky could be pals and go check for us?
He managed to get himself in the news again a day or two ago as it happens in Barrow. Thought he lived in Luton.
