Good, regardless of feelings/reasons people should not be allowed to destroy public property. There are a lot of things i don't like but live with because i am not the majority.
Triggered before 9am Gotta hand it to you Archie, you’re committed to your crew no matter how low they get. I’m beginning to understand just how hard that Jeremy Corbyn obliteration has affected you.
No idea what you’re on about mate. Just responded to your attention seeking out of sympathy really. Doing my good turn for the day, so to speak.
Life is all about perceptions; from where I’m standing, I just hooked a pair of sprats with zero effort.
Seeing all of these major corporations and individuals backtrack and squirm over their ridiculous backing of BLM is quite compelling. Do none of these lot carry out due diligence these days? As ever any real issue is lost in the sea of political posturing and nonsense.
You see you’ve just unwittingly highlighted the exact issue there imo. As you’re calling out organisations for their ‘ridiculous’ backing of BLM, as you’ve been convinced that the entire BLM movement, which is disparate and largely just localised groups backing the cause, as one homogenous blob. In doing so, you’ve likely bought the idea that they’re all leftie Marxists troublemakers and you’ve completely ignored the entire reason for their existence. Which is to highlight the prejudice that still exists within our society despite the moves forward in the last few decades. The only reason I can think of for an organisation not backing that cause, is if they don’t think that’s actually the case, and prejudice is merely imagined or a thing of the past. By ‘due diligence’ I can only conclude that you think companies and organisations should have reached the conclusion that a minority of people trying to latch onto the cause for their own ends, somehow should be a reason to shrug and decide that it’s a good enough reason to completely ignore the peaceful and good intention of the vast majority.
I just think before backing an organisation its good to make sure you know what they stand for. I did state in my original post that any real issues are lost - I do recognise things can improve for sure. I've never said I thought they were all "Marxist troublemakers" - you've assumed that. I believe a good proportion backed it for the right reasons.
The funniest aspect of this site is that we all presume to know the demeanour and attitude of posters from the words they might write in a given post ... on many occasion I will post complete drivel just because I'm a little bored and felling mischevious... some of the reactions are very funny, particularly when they antagonise a collective (and preductable) group ... now I've just done what I've poked fun at ... ... so am just as guilty
There’s probably funnier things on the site to be fair Fosse. Have you seen the food thread, for example?
Only you called businesses who’d offered their backing of BLM as being ridiculous, but now you’re saying ‘some’ will have backed it for the right reasons. Your position on this appears to be somewhat confused.
I think it was ridiculous for them to back it not knowing what BLM also stands for. No confusion there. I didn't say "some" either. Making up quotes again.
I believe a good proportion backed it for the right reasons. Your words ^^^^^ Otherwise known as ‘some’. BLM stands for Black Lives Matter and still does btw. Happy to help.
A good proportion means 'a substantial amount'. Your choice of 'some' insinuates not many which is not what I was trying to say. You could have just quoted me direct which would have been much easier.
