Right, see now this is the thing that gets me. It got me thinking this morning. There are still thousands of people in cladded homes, who can't sleep safe tonight. so what I don't get, with all this BLK protests, why has Grenfell not been mentioned, during them, people from all walks off life lost their lives that day.

Hahaha, I had to laugh last night. We’d watched a film and gone to bed, my ****ing insomnia saw me get back up about 2 I think, and I caught up with some of the thread. Saw I’d been accused of ‘hiding’ since the ‘news’ of the stabbings had come out, I mean what the actual ****? <laugh>

So I had a quick look for news of these stabbings and literally within a minute I saw the Met tweet, so posted it. Dropped the mic, and went back to bed. I’m still awake in bed at ****ing 4, so gets up and wanders around for a bit, has a quick squint on here again, and there’s Comm taking a pop at me for believing the actual Met ahead of some Facebook bollocks <rofl>

Was just chatting to my mate Sam who lost his dad tmin the fire and he was saying some of his neighbours are still in temporary accommodation, and some of them had full council tenancy previously.
Some are still in hotels bro it's disgusting tbh.

See now to me, that would add good weight to the BLM protests and one the government could not ignore, and would relight the media focus on it. I'm really surprised I've not seen any of these people kicking up about it, or maybe they are and it's not getting media attention. I said before this is about poverty, not just BLM. As the black lady said herself yesterday, poverty leads to crime, which then leads riots. I think those affected by Grenfell whether directly or indirectly, would have every reason to be kicking up after what is it, three years now?

    Yeh 3 years today.

They've fuked a lot of people out of solid tenancies with all kinds of underhand tactics. Putting people with known habits and social workers ect into hotels under the rules that if they are thrown out for whatever reasons by the hotel or temporary accommodation it's deemed as making oneself homeless or some ****.

Also Sam was telling me his father had a full tenancy prior to 2012 when the rules changed about permanent tenants and stuff, when he eventually was offered somewhere suitable he had to get the charity shelter involved due to the council slyly changing the wording on his new tenancy so that he would only have a standard one, when he was entitled to have the full permanent one his father had before.

The representation given to him by shelter basically said what they tried to do was unlawful and anyone in the job would know that.

Some people are just ****s in life.

    Completely agree.

This is about wealth or lack of, opportunity, housing, education, jobs etc. Not trying to diminish the racism that is clearly evident in society, but poor white folk living in cramped housing experience the same inequality as people of colour in this respect. Add to that, lots of ethnic folk are also poor, due to the same lack of opportunities afforded to the middle class. Double whammy.

But many of those beer swilling white yobs on the streets yesterday will be from working class, council estate backgrounds and whilst they turn their frustration and anger on johnny foreigner, they are equally being shafted by the same white privileged establishment. They have more in common with the struggling Asian family living in small council house than they do with some landed earl swanning around in his 35 bedroom stately home.

Defo think the media need to start getting to town on this one again, and supporting the residents. We can find Billions for Furlough, but can't sort this out, someone is taking the piss.

Could the Grenfells residents and all other affected properties, not banner it under BLM, surely that's what the movement stands for equality. I know a lot of it has been about the death of black people, but that's more the outcome than the cause...if you get what I mean. Poverty is the starting point of all this.

Theres plenty of groups and campaigns and such I just think the two things shouldn't mix. Devalues both for me personally.

I don't think it devalues anything, surely the root cause of BLM is equality, what better example to hold up, than the inequality of the Grenfell. Yet, we rip down statues and spray graffitti, it makes no sense, other than to be angered about something from 300 years ago. They need to be focusing on the inequality here and now, I'd of thought Grenfell would be more worthy than bothering about a tinpot statues in Central London.

I watched The Unwanted - The Secret Windrush Files, last night, as having watched the heartbreaking and piss boiling Sitting in Limbo last week, I was interested to know the full picture.

I won’t say anymore, just that it you’re even vaguely interested - watch it. BBC2 catch-up.

I'd change the name to Ethnic Minorities Matter then watch about 85% of the blacks lose interest
