Yeah, it was a 10 year old little girl I think. Record arrest count for a PL match too. A lot of people got long sentences.

It was just the Pompey idiots v the Police.

Ten year old girl as a football hooligan ffs. Talk about island mentality.

As much as I disagree with the principle of it you can see why they they eventually brought the bubble in. Surprised that the match in September was relatively peaceful really, excluding the horse puncher. Who I still can't quite believe is in his 50's.

Said from the start this **** would spread like a ****ing STD to the UK - throwing bottles, stabbing people, smashing **** over something that happened in Minneapolis.

I hope next time we have some police brutality the people of Tibet rise up in our honor.

Pissed up fat white lads having a pop today <laugh>

Did you seriously not think attacking Churchills statue was not going to get a reaction. Some veterans were by the statue today peaceful, yes it dragged in many knuckle draggers, but that's what occurs when you don't deal with a problem satisfactory. Other countries arrest you just for climbing in a fountain. I'm not talking about the statues such as those in Bristol, albeit it still cost council tax payers money to drag it back out. We saw it in Ameica mass looting, that had nothing to do with George Floyds murder, it was people's greed, that's black and white. Then here the focus turn to statues, and it's destroyed the fabric of the protests, due to vandalism. You must have seen the reaction in Poole. You can't just rock up and start ripping everything up because?......and don't give me this is anything to do with George, it's simply vandalism was met with thuggery. Look at the attention that guy got urinating today, it should be pretty swift in identifying him and holding him to account, can the same be said for the Churchill vandals, I've not heard anything.

It's more than just an attack on Churchill's statue. It was a stupid thing to do, but war memorials and Churchill's statue have been vandalised several times before, as recently as last year. It was wrong then and wrong now. There was no reaction before like the one we're seeing now because it wasn't related to any cause and nobody was expecting thousands to turn up a week later. There is a context here. I said before there's a question mark over who's doing it and why. The vast majority of protesters are peaceful but their cause is being lost in this and it will suit many who don't want change for them to be lumped in the same boat. It changes the story from anti-racism to extremism... far right vs far left, which is convenient for those who want that.

The originals are probably in their 60s by now. They used to drink in the Golden Bell in the Tricorn, best avoided.

Yeah, pretty bad way by the sounds of it, for what I heard he was under going brain surgery, unless anyone has seen any updates. Got a wife and two kids I think.

That's harsh.

you'll remember discussing the other day about who might pay for any long term rehab

tragic for his family

Day one this started getting out of hand and it's only gotten worse and worse. The police have been clearly concerned about being too heavy handed due to the bad press it will bring and it's just been allowed to escalate. People will die if this doesn't get reigned in, if they haven't already.

I know what the far right want, their objective is clear, their reason for demonstration is no mystery. It won't happen, I disagree with it, but I know WHY they're out.

What the objective of BLM, Antifa, and the nosy ignorant ****s that are following the marches like its a ****ing parade are a complete mystery. What DO Black Lives Matter want exactly? Seems to me that they're just being a bunch of arrogant ****s desperate for their 15 minutes. The black community of Great Britain is 3% of the population, they are quite substantially the most integrated and supported minority community in the entire country, @Spurlock pointed out the plethora of examples.

We're just copying what big pappa USA is doing, as per usual, we need to import some Native Americans and build them a reservation, then we can start marching about that in London.

I will give you my personal opinion of why you are seeing the reaction now. Like you said, there has not been a reaction before, we have seen graffitti many times, so what's the difference, the tearing up of the statue in Bristol, the demolition of the statues in Virginia that nye killed that black guy. All over we have seen it, people having to protect a statue in Poole. My fears were the same, these protests know no boundaries, evident by looting in America. It created a fear, a fear that was acted out in the wrong way, but a fear enough for peaceful veterans to stand by Churchill's statue today. People will react if they are put in a corner and they were, by what was acted out by our tv screens over recent weeks. I'm not excusing it, but they gave the thugs and the peaceful defenders of statues a reason on one hand for the thugs, and concerns were feared by the rest.

Harsh what that protestors nigh killed him. I bet your view would be different if roles were reversed and that was right wing groups hacking the statue down. They may still have charges levied against them yet, I don't call a potential charge of mansluaghter harsh.

Couple of posts mentioning the crime that George Floyd committed and seeming to suggest that because of that his life was less valuable than others ... that my friends is complete bollocks ... George Floyd is not being held up as a 'hero' (contrary to some assertions by the more right thinking), George Floyd was a victim of brutality, plain and simple...

He served time for his crime, which was actually robbery and intimidation... he did not pull the trigger and there is no evidence to suggest that he would have ... no other incidents with firearms as far as l am aware? ...

What is known, is that he moved away from the place and influences that led to his crime and was looking for a new start in life ... many people do that for many reasons ... the reality is still that he was brutally killed for attempting to buy cigarettes with a fake $20 bill ... whether that was knowingly or unknowingly changes nothing ... no way should that have cost a man his life and in such a barbaric way ... and that is all.

Sorry mate, according to some....not me...he was a career criminal...but hey not my argument, just thought i'd plant the seed.

Being able to distinguish the radicals from moderate protestors doesn’t make anything convenient. The fact is Dribz, you and your ilk wanna run your mouths off at one end of the spectrum whilst allowing the other end (conveniently where you seem to sit) to run riot.

People like myself have pointed out numerous times that hard left backing for almost any cause will destroy the cause, because it becomes political and draws in the violence of the hard right. Racism isn’t a political issue, it’s a humanity issue. Their platform has been obliterated by political hate, fuelled by the far left and set ablaze by the far right.

You’ve even contradicted yourself, by saying their cause is being lost in this, after saying it wasn’t being hijacked about half an hour ago. Tying yourself up in knots when your boys ain’t here to put their balls in your mouth ffs.

Time you took your vacation boy.

This also needs to be debated about how much is police brutality in the US and how much is racism. All this kneeling on folk until they die and shooting innocent unarmed white people, I see these videos from the US, too.

Not detracting away from what is clearly a country with a huge racism problem, just keeping this specific to the US police officers.

You only just noticed it's what suits the narrative, I normally get my meds hurled at me for making daft suggestions. You ain't on the wine by any chance? <whistle>

My opinion, BLM are about 12 months too late and acting for the wrong reasons.

Today we are seeing chaos because of something that happened in America to one man, last year over 96 people were stabbed to death in London (our country) most of them Black yet no protests.

Perhaps the perpetrators didn't fit the agenda for protestors.
