Just read over the road that George Baker has passed away. To be honest I didn’t recognise the name, but he was the tunnel steward at SAFC for many,many years.
Anyway the reason I post this is because my lad was the mascot at the SAFC v Blackburn Rovers game in 2007 before we emigrated and if it was George who looked after him he was a true gentleman and politeness personified.
I’ve attached the image of who I think was George with my boy on the day if anyone can confirm.
In any case, even if it’s not him in the image, I’ll say RIP George. From what the posts over the road say you were very highly regarded.
