Good music just doesn't get played on the radio etc. any more (well, possibly 6 Music), you have to go looking for it. Punk would never get the mainstream attention now that it did back then, all that happens now is genuinely exciting and innovating developments, e.g. Dubstep 5-10 years ago, turn up in the mainstream years later in some horribly bastardised form (Brostep) that all the teenagers with their ear-stretchers and crappy coloured hoodies think is amazing and new.
Good point Simon however it doesn't alter the fact Gambol just hates the latest tunes because he's getting on a bit
I generally find that whenever someone says music today/in the 80's/90's/whatever are just listening to the wrong stuff.

Skrillex and Dillion Francis are playing tonight in Belfast. Not fussed on Skrillex, has done some ok remixes in the past, but Dillion Francis has done some great mixes. Would have went to it myself if for the fact that he will be filled with pished up kids in coloured hoodies like you say. I don't mind it, though you can only really listen to at certain times

Listen medro, I'm truly off my nut most times I'm listening to music and I take drugs on a regular basis to help improve the sensation I feel when listening to it. That being said I know whats pish and what isn't and Skillrex and co are pish.
I've watched a handful episodes of Geordie Shore over the last year, at least coming from Newcastle I can understand the lingo As much as some of the people in the show degrade themselves with their behaviour, I blame the makers of the show for egging them on in the first place. It's as if the makers of the show give them carte blanche to do just whatever they want. What's the point in it all, you'd be entitled to ask.

Aye ended up in a barney with an Iraqi taxi driver last time I was there. Coppers saw it, and he told them I owed him £12 fare. They came over to me and said I should just pay the money. I said no ****ing chance, so they went back over to him to ask if he would accept a bit less just to get things done. No word of a lie, he told them the fare was up to £17 quid now, as the meter was still running... Cops told him to **** off!
