Maybe people who don't think we're all ****ing robbers, for a start, people who think, correctly, that you can walk down a street in Tyne & Wear wearing something that didn't cost £2 and get robbed.

We should all ****ing complain, and insist they do a programme that shows that a huge portion of our region are doing just fine, that we are good people and that we aren't all robbing smackheads.

Newcastle is a great city to live in, and i say that as a man who has lived in Manchester, London and currently Marbella.

 

Just been on BBC 3 facebook page. All the southern lasses commenting about how "shocked" they are and how they appreciate what they have after seeing a different walk of life.

Agree! Time to mobilise any lover of the north East and bombard these ****s with a tidal wave of complaints.

 

one complaint to ofcom and they have to investigate it so if you say this is a media bias against the north east especially Newcastle it could potentially get take off.

Although I myself am not from the North East, my family is and they're quite shocked at how it's just been portrayed. The way you've made it out is as if there is no other city that has 'poverty' areas. Every city in the country has a minimum of one area where this occurs. The fact you chose to focus this on the North East by bringing people from the South is a direct implication that the South does not contain any such areas. Crime is a mainstay worldwide not just in one region of a small country. The bad light in which this programme is showing this region in is not appreciated by any North-Easterners and is just another attempt at Media Bias.

Right where do I complain again?

 

'I have just had the misfortune of sitting through 'Geordie Finishing School For Girls' on BBC3.

As a person who is from the region, and proudly so, i find it absolutely beyond comprehension that the BBC, paid for in no small part by license payers money from the North East, has once again chosen to depict our region as a crime and drug addled area where people are unsafe in their neighbourhoods.

To edit scenes to suggest you step out of Newcastle's historic and listed train station into a derelict row of shops is not only misleading, but an insult to people not only from the city, but from right across the region (I myself am from Sunderland).

Where is the reference to the statistics that serious and violent crime in Newcastle and surrounding areas is significantly lower than London boroughs? Or reference to the many thousands of locals who earn well in excess of the national average, and don't live on benefits?

To suggest to the watching nation that areas are 'no go' if you have the audacity to wear decent clothes is not just an insult to hundreds of thousands of viewers, but a clear sign of inept and misleading journalism, with a clear agenda to once again to show our region in a bad light.

I suggest you put on your 'posh' clothes that we seemingly have no access to here, and your jewellery, and take a walk around Bermondsy, of course you will be safe and sound, as even at night down there the birds chirp in the trees and the local gents tip their hats as you walk by.
