I see this thread has gone the way of most on here. A ****ing slanging match between the usual suspects.
I linked to another post in the same thread to show it was far from a one off, despite PLT's claims. I'm not trying to muddy the waters at all. I simply made the point that not all the claims against the Allams were accurate, and that there's an alternative way of dealing with it. Simply blaming them for all the ills in the world just creates division and makes the argument look weak and 'shabby'. The ASI is a good example, as depsite claims to the contrary, it wasn't a misuse in the opinion of those that set it up, and other clubs used the money in the same way.
It's relevant to the question PLT himself asked. It also highlights the point I was making. The drivel is from the people making issues before they get the facts.
It wasn't a mystery fund. He has a budget for such things. I posted the bit in bold to show that the money wasn't spent on the shirts but nobody would ever know for sure, as was the claim from PLT, which he later vehemently denied. The whole point is still that the approach is wrong and divisive,
Some people just can't see criticism as positive. You are as bad as PLT and the anti-Allam obsession gets in the way of actually resolving things.
It's a way of stopping more open discussion I'm afraid. It doesn't need to be that way. They try to make it a personal battle, where as I believe the club is more important than just individuals.
His claim was that they were bought with a surplus in the Tiger Travel fund. Did nobody at the club call you to apologise for the way the ASI fund was used?
He has a budget that can be used for such things. Either way, it clearly was neither ASI nor a mystery fund.
Thought it was widely accepted that our club spent all the money on away fans, and when they were critisised for it they had a moment of guilt ( did i just write that ) and magically found some other / extra money with which the produced the t-shirts, scarfs and flags. But we all knew that by then all the ASI money had gone. Not that it matters it was a ****s trick done by ****s, shouldn't of expected anything else. Maybe it was James Mooney who had the guilty conscience after all he was the one at the FWG listening to the fans suggestions as what to do with the ASI money, and I think telling them the club would use the money as they suggested.
Nope. The club said quite early on that it wasn't ASI money, and the budget it came from was no mystery, it was used to help the now departed Ultras prior to that. There never was an ASI pot as such, money would be allocated to the ASI cause at the end of the season. The club had previously subsidised travel, which some felt wasn't a fair use of the money either. If I recall correctly, the people that suggested the scheme, had said that they were hoping it word spark innovative measures, rather than just a bit off tickets and travel.
No. It just sinks to personal nonsense. My point is, that a scatter gun approach isn't effective and creates division and further issues. If rules are broken, the aim should be to get the authorities to enforce them. If they haven't been broken, then the campaign should be to get the authorities to change them. That takes the Allams out of the equation, which will piss them off far more than any abuse. The focus seems to be on reasons to hate, whether valid or not, rather than encouraging views on trying to resolve things, unite fans and move forward.
Just in case anyone missed it... BBC Humberside Sport@HumbersideSport The @HullCityST meet with Premier League chief Richard Scudamore today to discuss concerns over lack of concessions & fan engagement.
Which is s step in the right direction. Hopefully, one outcome will be that the fans engagement will work at many levels, and create a way of fans themselves to be listened to, considered and for that to contribute to the discussion process. I said from the off that Geoff is a good call for that position. Hopefully this will help him create a better platform to initiate fan engagement. Good luck Geoff.
