I'd be interested to see if Stoke fans would swap Premier League status for decent football. They're definitely over-achieving and I'd think that an attempt to play an expansive style of football (without the years of training towards it that say Swansea have had) would result in them being picked off. Alternatively, we've played pretty well at home recently but would we swap our playing style for safety? Do we actually put on any better a show consistently enough to even say that we have a better style of play? I'm a purist at heart but must admit that, if the game can't be played like Barcelona on top form, I'm happy watching comitted players giving it their all (a la Stoke) and my least favourite type of game is the type that looks like a training match. Our improved run has been achieved as a result of more organised, physical midfield work and a team unity rather than attacking, free flowing football. The results have given us some confidence and the players' touches have improved as a result but we have a very mixed style (most of the traditionally good stuff coming through Adel). I think most teams have short spells in games where suddenly there's one touch passing and impressive counter attacking and TBH I don't really see Stoke as an exception to that.
The correct answer is: - 3 teams from England will be in the EL next season. - Liverpool and Chelsea (if they don't win CL) have already qualified. - The 5th placed team will qualify, if Chelsea don't win the CL. - The 4th placed and 5th placed team will qualify, if Chelsea win the CL.
For those interested the teams from the Fair Play system are in the EL next season: Norway - Stabæk Finland - MYPA Holland - Twente
Quite right, bored with this now and until we are involved. Thought you supported ALL British teams in Europe though Swords.......
I do but this Chelsea thing is bordering on the creepy. Why are all Rangers fans always thinking about Chelsea? Weird if you ask me.
The same reason that Celtic and Rangers think about each other - hatred! This is the first time Chelsea has finished outside the top 5 in 10 seasons.
That's just it though, Chelsea don't think about us period. We're too small. And it ain't the same as Glasgow's ugly sisters, '79. There's is a religious, sectarian hatred far deeper than football. I just think we'd be better off forgetting about them altogether mate. Obsessing over them is like being the needy little bird who's been dumped but keeps hanging out of and harassing her ex. It looks sad and pathetic. (No offence)
They'll take the piss out of us just like United took the piss out of City, but eventually the worm will turn. It's in the blood Swords, you clearly don't understand...
You're right mate, you've got to have grown up with it to get it. Hopefully the worm will turn in our favour like City's has.
Mate, i work with people who wear Chelsea tops, my brother is Chelsea, my mum is Chelsea, a fair amount of my friends in the UK and abroad are Chelsea...it really gives me an excuse to take the p%%s out of them....does that explain it. Dont hate them personally, just plain old dont like the team.......make sense?
