October the 31st is going to be interesting . Your thoughts ltl ? Going to bed , so will respond when I can .
Just showed my mate this so re read it and just had to appreciate it again. Best post I've seen on this board for a very long time, utterly brilliant Seriously LTL, bravo sir
New engine regs? It’s a wait and see job. Be great if the likes of Aston and Porsche do actually come in on the game. Glad Ross Brawn is involved as he’s a sensible voice. Will be the first big test of Liberty Media.
Kyvat = Martina - every time he gets dropped, you think it's the last time you'll ever see him, but he somehow keeps reappearing. Magnussen = Osvaldo - hot-tempered pretty boy whose drama vastly outstrips his talent. Alonso = Shilton - seemingly ageless wonder who was elite at their peak, but would probably play in a car park in front of no one to scratch the competitive itch. Stroll = Chambers - proof that it's hard to separate out "getting promising results for their age" from "will actually be good at this".
Going to be interesting . Ferrari , Merc & Renault all want the current type of Engines , or very similar , but at reduced costs . Red Bull and the others want more traditional engines . Could be a real watershed Moment , or just a damp squib .
FAO LTL . Have you any idea when we will hear about the proposed engine rule changes ? I cannot see anything . Though limited access , as am at work . Found it . http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/41820129
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/41805294 Interesting story of how rugby league became big in the Lebanon. Started by ex-pats and their descendants in Australia and now becoming a popular game in their homeland. Unlike most games in Lebanon it is not divided on religious and political lines...being played by Muslim and Christian mixed teams. And a women's team is planned. Lebanon beat South Africa in a 2 leg play-off for the World Cup and they beat France in the Cup. Now losing 16-6 to England. 22--6 at half-time. Finished 29-10 to England. Have to play France, but now all but through to the quarter finals.
Hamilton stuffs it in the fence in Q1 so starts last. Should make for a good race tomorrow. Bottas on pole from Vettel by 0.038.
I have just been watching the Federation Cup match between Belarus and USA. Belarus have managed to unearth another champion in the grunt and screeching department in Sabelenka, who could easily match her compatriot Azarenka and the Russian lady, Sharapova. Is it something that is coached or is it in their DNA? PS: Sloane Stephens is too nice. She is great to watch but needs to adopt the hardness of the great Serena. when the going gets tough. Would love Sloane to win lots of slams in the near future.
With a few laps to go, Marc Marquez is once again World MotoGP champion. Andrea Dovizioso has gone out. The Ducati was just too slow today, and he was having to take too many chances.
Good to see the All Blacks put France in their place, outscoring them by 5 tries to 2, one being a penalty try. Looking at England, they are going to have to step up massively to defeat Australia next week.
BTW, if anyone does watch MotoGP racing apart from Me and LTL, you may or may not be pleased that Julian Ryder has co-commented on his last race. When the Beeb had MotoGP they had Charlie Cox and Steve Parrish. I loved their commentaries and banter. They were always taking the mickey out of each other, and Cox had a fun turn of phrase that was perfect for the crazy world of motorcycle racing. But I seemed to be one of the only ones who liked it [Nightmare in a bubble car!], and everyone else would be shouting for Toby Moody and Julian Ryder. I remember listening to them a few times and personally, I couldn't stand them. Stiff and very, very regional. No good for an international event. On BT Sport these days, while Keith Huewen is a lot better than Moody, we have, up until the end of today's race, had to put up with Ryder. Well no bloody more, thank goodness. He's retiring, and I only wish he'd gone sooner. I've actually stopped watching MotoGP, on a regular basis, mainly due to him. Next season I can perhaps go back to it with some regularity.
Just watched France v New Zealand on YouTube!! Very strange penalty try awarded to the French which dragged the French back into the match. Much huffing and puffing from the French, lots of pressure from them but unlike the Aussies do not have the extensive range of skills to really challenge these great New Zealanders. I really do recommend watching these guys before they are replaced by another team in the cycle of events. Probably their deadliest rivals from across the Tasman Sea.
Would have been even bigger if we could have scored the conversions and had been awarded another try (disallowed, but would have been given if it had been referred).
