Tbh, Valentino Rossi is a breed totally unto himself. Many F1 drivers are in awe of him.

Joshua Parker beats Hughie Fury on points to retain his belt.

Hardly a performance that will have AJ worried from what I've read.

Was a terrible fight to watch, not one decent shot from either of them. Fury spent the whole time flicking jabs and running around the ring, and Parker was too slow to get anywhere near him.

Never seen Parker before so would you say not a threat to AJ or Wilder on that evidence?

He's a power puncher without much power and he's slow, poor movement. I think he troubles Wilder because Wilder likes to swing so that would suit Parker as he doesn't have the skill to beat someone tactically. He looked decent when he let loose a bit vs Fury last night.
AJ though would beat him comfortably. His all-round game is too good and he hits harder.
Cant forget Parker is relatively young.

Peter Sagan wins an unbelievable Mens road race at the World Championships. The peloton reeled in the breakaway with 1k to go and Sagan who had been silent all day showed his class in the sprint finish.

Recording breaking attendance at Wembley yesterday for the NFL, which regularly gets a higher attendance than the England team. Love it.

Funny that . Mrs Jasper is into her TDF ( and all other races ) cycling , the tactics , the scenery ...

I showed her that Sagan had won , she said she won't be watching that then and went into a rant .

She cannot stand him, never seen a reaction from her about any sports person EVER .

Hopefully she will have calmed down by the time she gets home from work , I will ask her just what it is about him !

Shame it was such a rubbish game though. Don't think there is a worse sport to watch when it is so one sided. Luckily there are 4 (?) more games in London this year. Still don't think a London franchise will happen anytime soon but good that the interest in the sport is growing here.

Probably that he deliberately pushed Mark Cavendish into a barrier during a bunch sprint at this year's TdF which caused Cav to break his shoulder blade and retire from the Tour. It also meant Sagan was disqualified from the Tour. Sagan is a massive talent and a surprisingly humble man, but he is ruthless when it comes to winning, to the point of endangering his fellow competitors.

The fine line that is talked about between hard racing and recklessness. Cav is my favourite but I have no ill feelings for Sagan, who is truly world class and probably the cycling superstar at the moment ahead of Froome.

Well that's your opinion but Sagan needs to learn to climb and time trial before he's got any chance of winning a Grand Tour. Sagan is a great all-rounder though, but at the moment no one comes close to Froome, who of course won the green jersey as well as the red at La Vuelta.

Well no, I don't think he will ever win a grand tour because he's a sprinter and not a GC rider. And although Froome of course is the best all round at the moment and achieved remarkable feats this year, Sagan is the superstar in popularity terms because he brings the crowds and excitement wherever he goes.

Meh, I was supporting the Jags so I appreciated the result, and I was hoping they could have scored another field goal or touchdown to break the record number of points in a London game. I admit, it's more exciting when the game isn't quite so one sided, but I'd happily take a one-sided win for the Vikes next month.

Rumours are there will be five games in London next year.

Aren't there 5 this year? I notice they have been upping the games by 1 each season. Reckon they will cap it at 8 and roll with that for a few years and see if the interest is still there. 8 games is the amount of home games a franchise has each season (excluding play offs). Even if the interest is there there are still lots of other problems that would come with a franchise being in the UK and ultimately I think they won't bother with having one.

You obviously didn't see the Spanish crowds turning out for their hero Alberto Contador on the Angliru the other day! And then the next day in Madrid they had to delay the podium presentation so Alberto could do a lap of honour!

In terms of pure sprinting, though, I'd probably put Marcel Kittel ahead of Sagan.

It's four this year. Two at Wembley, and two at ****enham. I'm hoping if it's five next year, none will be at ****enham, but Spurs new stadium will be open so hopefully they're get some instead.
