Why jinx Williams? Of the ladies left I would like either her of Halep to win the tournament.

 

I'd like someone who hasn't won the Championship before.

 

Not Konta?

 

Must admit I have not heard of him .

 

And is called Konta.

 

And if not Konta, then Vandeweghe. Been a fan of hers since seeing her last year.

 

Murray/Hingis win 3&4 and go into the quarter finals.

 

Murray must be in the top 5 of doubles players right now. If I was a doubles player, he would be one of the first I would consider to partner me. Great that Hingis is having a tennis career after singles.

 

Think he's 3rd with his present partner. Incidently, GB's Skupski brothers have unexpectedly made it to the quarter finals.

 

I also thought that doubles players have an individual ranking with the doubles sector given the many different partnerships they have throughout their careers. Thanks Fran.

 

Muguruza very impressive again. Can't see beyond a final between her and Venus.

 

Does make it complicated....I heard someone say that Murray and partner were 3rd (though whether that was overall or just at Wimbledon, I don't know)....whatever, a shame they went out.

Here we go...Murray is 5th and Soares 6th..

And together were 3rd seeds at Wimbledon.

And Hingis is 3rd in the rankings for a ladies doubles player....so good combination with Murray.

 

Konta loses the first set 7-2 on a tiebreak. Couldn't get her first serves in when it mattered. Halep is sooooooooooo quick!

 

Good match this but it just feels like Halep has a little too much for Konta.

 

Too many unforced errors from Konta, so far.
Kept getting into good positions 0-30 etc, then kept making mistakes.
Now 1-3 down in tie break

 

Wooooo! Konta wins the second set!!

 

Not taking advantage at key points seemed to have cost her but she turned it around in that tie break. Fantastic stuff!
