Draper beat Alcaraz in straight sets. Been banging the drum for Jack for a while…good service game and the right attitude. Will be the next GB hope when Murray finally retires. Game * followed by win for Billy Harris, 29 year old who has slogged his way round Challenger circuit for 10 years. Two Brits in quarter finals. * match if you are oranges and lemons
Just listening to Anthony Joshua on Desert Island Discs. He comes across as a genuinely likeable and very articulate young man. Worth a listen, it will be on BBC Sounds.
Big upset in the American trials for Olympic qualification. Reigning Olympic Champion Athing Mu, falls and finishes last in what is a one off race where the top 3 go to the Olympics. Shows how flawed that system is as she is the most talented and their best chance for Gold, or a medal at all in the 800m given the strength of that distance at the moment. Great chance for Keely Hodgkinson now, though she will still need to beat Moraa who has bested her on several big occasions too.
I was about to say that both of them could have lit up the PL. Then I remembered a skinny youth call Christiano played for Manure , many moons ago. He has aged well. My memory less so well.
Danica Patrick's F1 punditry is...not well-loved. On the bright side, she has produced a helpful Youtube video to allow people to spot the reptilian shapeshifters in our midst, so that's useful. https://x.com/CameronF1TV/status/1804215285072732267
The fact that she dated NFL QB Aaron Rodgers (who is also a legitimate crazy person) probably should have been a tip-off.
Anyone see that UKAD handed down a 4 year ban earlier this week to a boxer who died in March? Appalling and an inexcusable level of incompetence
