Crucially the forecast isn't all rain on Sunday - it's mixed which is the best type of weather for a race. Just need a few heavy showers to pass over the track.
True enough. I’d rather someone tried that bit too hard than just gave up though. Take note, Southampton.
I agree disappointing for us , but the correct decision . Coming home the local radio said it was Heavy Rain and Bad weather , I hit the fing roof . Got home read the ARTICLE ON THE BBC AND CLMED DOWN .
That’s a shame, I was with some of the technicians from Hass yesterday and they were looking forward to their trip.
With just a very tough mountain time trial to go, Gereint Thomas is still 26 seconds ahead of Primoz Roglic in the Giro d’Italia after the Slovenian stole 3 seconds in the final yards up the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. If G, who had his 37th birthday yesterday, wins on Sunday he’ll be the oldest man ever to win the Giro. He’s already an absolute hero of British cycling, but this would be the crowning glory on an illustrious career. Another hero, Mark Cavendish, will be hoping to finish his last Giro before retiring with a win in the bunch sprint in Rome.
Having the cycling on whilst working from home is very enjoyable, hours where you don't need to pay too much attention except to take in the glorious views of Italy and then half an hour where incredible athletes absolutely bury themselves to be first to the top of a mountain! Always amazes me how they can get up a 10% average gradient mountain probably quicker than I could cycle down it!
Heartbreak for Gereint Thomas as Primoz Roglic finishes the brutal mountain time trial 40 seconds faster, more than enough to overcome this morning’s 26 second deficit. Roglic won the stage, and even had time to lose and replace his chain on the final climb up the Monte Lussari on the border with Slovenia. G remains a hero, and one of the classiest people in sport. His first action on learning that he had lost was to go and hug Roglic and every one of the Slovenian’s Jumbo Visma teammates.
