Woke up at quarter to 6, dozed off and missed the first two laps.

Watched about ten laps and then fell asleep until lap 51.

I can't believe how little I have heard about it. It is a major, major, major sporting achievement! I love running so I'm biased to an extent, but it is one of the greatest sporting achievements of all time!

I read about it this morning.
Despite being almost 2 minutes quicker than his previous fastest time, it won’t be an official world record owing to the 42 (I think) pacemakers and a car that set the pace.
Doesn’t take away just how phenomenal an effort it was.

    And me

Eliud Kipchoge has today become the first man to run a sub 2 hour marathon. A truly phenomenal achievement.

This ranks alongside other great events in the history of mankind.

First sub 4 minute mile................Roger Bannister

First man to climb Everest..........Edmund Hillary

First man on the moon................Neil Armstrong

Pompey 0-4 Saints......................Danny Ings (2) Cedric Soares, Nathan Redmond.

All of them "I can remember where I was when that happend" moments.

The last oñe being tongue in cheek. More memorable was Southampton 1 West Ham 0 in front of a récord crowd until the Coventry game in 2011-12!

As athletics sinks again into the mire of doping scandals football remains the only sport where injecting testosterone still gets you sent off for breaking someone's leg

So he says that being a vegan is the only way to save the planet.
Errr what about you being a F1 driver and the fact you fly your dogs around on a private jet???

Indeed, it is hypocrisy. When he does his doughnuts after winning a race. Doesn't he realise he releases enormous amounts of PM10 and 2.5 particulates? Probably not. Maybe he's going to quit F1 at the end of the current season and turn to Formula E. Now that would send a message at least.

The article says he sold his private jet. Maybe read the whole article before passing judgement.

But he still flew his dogs around in a private jet <doh>
Buts it’s ok now because he sold it so he’s no longer a hypocrite.

But his job is to jump from country to country. The dog probably helps keep some normality. I'm glad he has spoken out, I also hope he deals with his eco depression in a positive manner. Must be dreadful having people point the finger because of his job. Of course his carbon footprint is massive, he's a racing car driver!

I think the point has entirely eluded you HR. A man whose whole career involves creating massive amounts of carbon dioxide says the only way to save the planet is to be a vegan.

    Right.
