I'm pretty sure that one of the cars zooming past me during the Ladies Tour of Britain was a hybrid, can't remember the team now and as it was one of the last cars I couldn't check many of the others out. Seems a sensible idea to me
That reminds me, before my [cough] incident yesterday, I had been going to Colden Common every day, and nearly every other evening around 6.30-7pm I'd end up following a black Model S on his way home too. He's obviously having too much fun because on exiting the roundabout, he bullets the thing upto about 55, then lets it regen back to 40mph, the top speed of the road. And every time he does it, I inadvertently let out a little WTF gasp. The acceleration doesn't look real. It's like speeded up video. Uncanny.
Heads up for the 2020 Olympic Games in Japan (surely Rio wasn't three years ago!!)….there will be robots showing people to their seats and delivering food. Yep, thought that would make you sit up Suddenly your interest in multi-sports has increased exponentially. Also the medals are made from precious metals collected from old mobile phones....took them years to collect and worth millions.
Toyota will be making little electric buses too, to ferry people around. They will look advanced, but will be pretty damn basic: please log in to view this image At least they'll have wheelchair mobility, I suppose.
On the other hand, this is currently operating in London Olympic Park: please log in to view this image No steering wheel. No front or back. Cute.
Is it possible to have a non-electric thread!? When buses become general sport, I promise I’ll read it.
After record breaking heat across western Europe yesterday, the Tour de France is stopped because of snow, ice and hail!
Can't absolutely guarantee it, LTL, but I will try. Climate Change is not a game we're playing. It's a race. And pretty much the only really important one.
You don't have to comment at all, Libby. You can ignore anything I write on here about the effects of motorsport. It's just another side of looking at things. We have to change our habits, because without us doing so, nothing will happen. For example, I have totally dropped any interest in MotoGP, and that was hard for me to do, because I love racing motorcycles, and have been following them for longer than I followed car racing. But if I just confined my comments to one thread people could avoid it and that would be very convenient. These things have occasionally to get in your face and make you think. If protesters didn't disrupt daily life ordinary people would just ignore it. Just saying.
