TBF I do like baseball. I have watched the Yankees in Yankee Stadium and the Atlanta Braves in the old Turner Field and was not bored for one minute
Never really got into baseball, tried watching it once or twice on TV but found it boring as didn't really get all the rules. Seems to be a growing trend though of American teams coming over here to play a couple of games, won't be long before they do the same with basketball aswell I'd imagine.
I was once invited to go and see team in Denver (Rockies?) against someone. They lost 0-1 with the only score being in the 8th ...... I wanted to poke my eyes out ...... and (I said to my Merkun pals) “you say cricket is boring?”
That's an incredible amount of foul territory. Poor corner infielders are going to be running miles out there.
Not actually sure it's a great hitter's park. 330 down the lines isn't too short; pretty close to average, I believe (the cookie-cutter domes were/are in that range). 385 to straightaway is definitely short, but it's apparently really deep to the alleys, and I suspect that the overall square footage probably exceeds most stadiums. Which is a good thing...home runs good, triples better.
While the pitch is a bit short for a straight hit, the boundaries to long on and long off are quite a distance from the wicket. This is a good thing, because as nice as a good cut away for four might be, watching the batsmen run for three with the threat of a run out is always better.
330 is still not a huge distance given a lot of homers go 400+. And yes, triples are great fun to watch but I would expect a few homers from each side on both days.
I find American Football interesting and a complex game if a little long winded, Baseball however is just glorified Rounders and would never distract me from my love of the only bat and ball game that counts for me....Cricket.
Hamilton demoted three places for blocking Raikkonen, so starts fifth. Charles and Max front row *gulp*.
