I feel the matches involving Scotland, Ireland, Wales, France and England are going to be quite tight with less than 10 points between them in any of the match ups. So last year's 5th could well become 6 Nations Champions such is the narrowness in the ability of the teams. Shall we cheer for Scotland as they have not won the title for years?
For me Ireland, as my Mother is Irish but I am wary of England's power. So are New Zealand. So long as the rugby is good, and the Four Home Countries are all capable of good rugby when they put their minds to it.
I will be supporting Engerland as always but have a soft spot for Ireland and bought my Dad an old style Ireland rugby top for Christmas.
Italy outplaying Scotland in the last 10 ...... Just as well they scored a load before they stopped playing!
Final thought on the rugby at the weekend. Super to see Wales wiinning against France. As for England, I took off my green-tinted spectacles and found myself watching a match that was immensely absorbing. Great start from England which laid the platform for the win. Farrell was immense. Although he is nowhere near as talented as Barrett, he has other strengths such as his passing, kicking, leadership which I thought was superb, plus his defensive attributes. I saw the match at the Lennox Bar here in Palma de Mallorca, which was packed with people just enjoying a wonderful game. PS: Playing under the floodlights adds something to the spectacle.
It was a superb match!! The margin of victory took me by surprise but I did suggest to you previously that an England win was not unexpected. The game against Wales will be pivotal, and unmissable. Enjoy your week.
