Argentina had a lot of possession but couldn’t get through the Welsh defence until late on. Wales scored a couple of nice tries in the first half. Good game, Hadleigh Parkes easily MOTM. Broke through the gain line every time he had the ball.
Fair enough, obviously just fought Bellew again as a last big pay day. Hasn't got the power he once had, glad he saw sense to retire rather than get ****ed up a few more times.
Konta in semi-final of Nottingham Open today. Murray to announce today if he is fit for Queens....doesn't bode well if he has to leave it this late. So hope we haven't seen the last of Andy
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/44506760 Murray elected to play at Queens. Make or break, me thinks.
Anyone seen Phil Mickelson at the US Open? He ran after a putt that missed the hole and was rolling down a slope off the green. He hit it whilst it was rolling off, back up the hill towards the hole. He was given a two stroke penalty, withdrew from the tournament and then decided to carry on playing with Beef.
Konta into Nottingham Open final for 2nd year running. Last year she lost to her semi-final opponent.
Just watched this incident discussed on Sky at some length. Disgraceful behaviour...on a difficult course he decided to play by the rules and take a 2 stroke penalty rather than have the ball run away and perhaps take more shots. He should have been disqualified under a subsequent rule for someone touching a moving ball deliberately to influence the game. Mickelson admitted what he'd done....someone lacked the courage to DQ a major name. Daly was shown doing something similar years ago....but that was totally different. He just smacked the ball in temper and put it in an even worse place, so gained no advantage....world of difference between that and what Mickelson did. Totally cynical.
100% agree. He even admitted having thought about doing it before. Completely pre-mediated. Should have been disqualified so now should get tournament ban. It won’t happen because he’s a “People’s Champion.” I really don’t like how some of these “professionals” are complaining the course is too difficult. One said, “It is just about Luck now rather than how good you are.” Stop being prima donnas and get on with it.
I think their complaint is that the course got worse later on (which of course can happen wherever there is weather) and became unplayable because good shots just rolled away. I saw several examples of balls dropping near the pin perfectly, then rolling into the rough. The complaint seems to be that this may be decided by someone having a bit of luck. At first, before I saw the replays, I agreed with you....American courses can be too sanitized, but you do also want to see good play rewarded. P.s. As America is so fond of guns, it should be acceptable to shoot spectators who annoyingly barrack players and cheer balls running away into the rough.
Just watched it on the news. I remember that Mickleson used to be referred to as FIGJAM on the golf circuit, because of his arrogance. F*** I’m Good Just Ask Me, is the full version. I actually quite like him now, since he clapped Rose (I think) when he holed a putt on the 17th to draw level in an important Ryder Cup game singles.
I can put the ball near the pin....just not necessarily on the same golf course. I hold the world record in crazy golf....think I reached 100 before I gave up as I was fed up with letting people play through.
Will someone explain why Americans yell 'In the hole' at golf tournaments. Is this a proven method that works? If so, we should yell it at matches...if we don't mind sounding like plonkers of course.
It’s 100% successful in golf, as eventually, their favoured golfer always gets it in the hole, even if it takes 27 goes. It wouldn’t be quite as effective in football, especially with regard to Southampton!
Aside from the gobby yanks this has been a great tournament. It's been so difficult and as an average golfer myself it's good to see it playing so hard. Fleetwood is playing out of his skin here and could end up winning 1 or 2 over par.
