Well, before the PL it wasn’t really a time Newcastle were locking horns with the big boys.

Hmmm I think TV was the main thing and then billionaires.... I dunno though it's not that tbh it's just that lifelong frustration was boiling inside me and now I kinda don't have it.
So ... and just for the bantz ..
If Pep Guardiola had joined Liverpool rather than Manchester City, had spent exactly the same money (less than Liverpool actually spent over the period, by the way) on exactly the same players and achieved exactly the same success - that would not have been 'cheating" - just another glorious chapter in the history of the 'best club in the wurrrrrld' ...
... but because he did at Manchester City a club for whom PSR is a complete and absolute irrelevance (given the wealth behind the club) - it's despicable cheating?
... and there are still some muppets that can't see that PSR / FFP are just mechanisms aimed at the suppression of any emerging (sustainable) challenges to the established elite.
FFP is the biggest misnomer out there - it's constraint of genuine competition is the polar opposite of ensuring fair play in the sport... it's a tool of monopoly.
