Really enjoyed CMD arete but crib goch I was definitely out of my co.fort zone 40mph gusts didn't help.Cubs and Scouts were a wonderful thing. Especially Scouts, did some proper Mountaineering at times in our group.
Had a week in Glen Nevis one year camping by a river, did the Carn Mor Dearg arete aged twelve. IYKYK.
We did Crib Goch on Snowdon one year as well. We had proper mountain leaders with us but it's not something for the faint hearted. It's ****ing dangerous tbh.
Both my sons went, but the Scout group round here disbanded before my middle one got out of cubs, sadly. People got too wrapped up in protecting little Tarquin's from utter bullshit like Covid.
Weirdly, I also got hit on the head with a dropped pole but it was the centre pole of a big tent, not a flag pole. That was in North Yorkshire. Didn't put me off like, made of stronger stuff than Munse obviously.
My brother in law took his and my son over crib goch a couple of years ago, a mountain rescue bloke actually fell and died leaning out to retrieve his drone, just behind him was a group of scouts, who witnessed the fall, they were in a right state, took mountain rescue and age to get them back to a safe base, ironically my sons mate from college, his mom led the rescue
