After last season and the 22 defeats in the league, my expectations are minimal. Sounds bad but a top half finish would be progress this season and then hopefully Spurs can kick on next season after Frank has got rid of anyone he doesn’t want and has got in some good signings.

I’d take results over style but I know a lot of fans liked the kamikaze way of Ange but that just isn’t sustainable at a decent level.

An Eze win for you <rofl>

When Arteta came in we were a shambles. We had a bunch of misfits and a few players who didn't really want to be there. It took him a couple of seasons to clear out the deadwood and start to put his own stamp on the team.

To start with he made us defensively strong and gradually we've added more attacking players, but that whole process has taken 4/5 years. I know we've not won anything in that time (apart from the FA cup in his first season) but it's been a step by step process, and we're now at a point where we look like favourites.

Fans want instant success, but when you appoint a new manager, fans have to accept that the first season is just going to be the manager trying to get the players he's got to play the style he wants, and he'll be assessing who can do it and who needs to go. Then it will take at least 2-3 transfer windows to start to see the fruits of what the manager is trying to do.

That's at least 2 possibly 3 seasons before it all starts to come together and that's if the manager gets everything right. I think Thomas Frank is a decent manager, but I'm still not sure if he's got what it takes to manage a bigger club and make them consistent challengers. Time will tell, but obvs I hope he catches the [HASHTAG]#spursy[/HASHTAG] and it all goes tits up :)

I see Antony got sent off today for Real Betis. I only know because I was keeping an eye on the Girona result, they were winning 0-1 when I last looked but ended up 1-1.

I don't mind Thomas Frank but he does remind me of another one of these managers that likes playing draughts on the touchline...

Yeah it will be a slow process. Top half finish and champions league knockout stages is a good season. Qualifying for Europa or conference would be ideal as Spurs can realistically win either of them.

Nkunku now on plodding around not arsed. If you’d told me he was on Chelsea’s bench, in Saudi or on loan but injured at West Ham I’d have believed you.

Now Loftus-Cheek. All the lads getting a run out.

When are we going to see your video then?

lol

We've already had our dickhead, they don't need me as well.

Actually we've had two and both on TV! (again not me).

We had one where a fan ran on the pitch and thought it was clever to jump on the opposition keepers back, I think it might have been against Wycombe.

The second one was a racist fan who thought he'd be clever and run to the front of the stand and start doing monkey impressions when the opposition scored, can't remember who that was against.

Both fans were caught and banned from the ground - both were local people I believe.

We've had no horse punchers yet though. :bandit:

wtf, didnt realise the Milan squad is full of Ex-Chelsea players, Tomori, Nkunku, Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic!

I was pleased they won, because it stopped Inter leapfrogging Gasperini's lot. Although I doubt Roma have it in them to fight off Inter & Milan to the title and of course Napoli will want a say in it.
