Certainly wasn't expecting that result for England tonight, I really thought they would be much tougher opposition.

Last time we won by such a large margin was against then Yugoslvia in 1988, under Bobby Robson 1-4 scorers: 0-1 (4') Peter Beardsley, 0-2 (17') John Barnes, 0-3 (20') Bryan Robson, 0-4 (25') Tony Adams, 1-4 (80') Srećko Katanec

Yugoslavia beat us once 5-0 way back in 1958. The team that day included Bobby Charlton and Tom Finney.

Sure we have tanked San Marino by more than 5 goals a few times since then.

Just remembered we ****ed Germany up 5-1 about 20 year ago

I still remember England's Malcolm McDonald scoring five against Cyprus, although he was Toon so we probably shouldn't mensy him.

My uncle was supposed to be taking over from him when he was at Newcastle but got a broken leg when he was on loan at Peterborough and ended up in a wheelchair for life shortly after. He always spoke highly about Macdonald, so I don’t mind him.

@brb you may well have sign him live. He played at your ground during the late 70’s. You could have been watching him on the ball not having a clue that not even 50 years later you’d be banning his nephew on this glorious forum <laugh>

weird how we can remember that but what happened last week is a complete blank

or is that just me :bandit:

It's not just you, I assume when we are young we have plenty of room in the brain for memory, and we are continually learning, but as we get old everything slows down, like a computer the memory becomes full, and how you recall that memory, like cookies and cache. I know kids before the age of five generally don't remember much because whatever part of the brain it is is not fully developed. Like time going fast for older people, it;s not going any faster, it's just we are slowing down, so we take longer to do things, hence it gives the perception of time going fast. Probably quite a few Youtube videos on all this stuff.
