If we're going down that route we'll be examining the intent and potential of every bad tackle. Was a bad tackle but nothing happened, should have been a red.

Didn't injury him, could have injured him mildly or could have injured him badly depending on all kinds of factors.

When we have tackles actually hitting, like De Jong in the 2010 world cup final and the Millwall keeper, ones that didn't aren't the same.

Those factors in Rugby are used as 'mitigation' - so might be a yellow instead of a red ... the one yesterday was clear cut - red all day ...

His tackle on Ben Arfa against us was just as bad. Broke the guys tibia and fibula and was dropped from his national team as a result:

Bert van Marwijk, said he saw "no alternative" but to remove De Jong, adding: "I've seen the pictures back. It was a wild and unnecessary offence. He went in much too hard. It is unfortunate, especially since he does not need to do it.

"The funny thing is that the referee did not even show a yellow card for it. Apparently, there are other standards. But I have a problem with the way Nigel needlessly looks to push the limit. I am going to speak to him."

Didn't even get booked by the ref in the game and the FA said afterwards they couldn't punish him as the ref had seen it. Think he also broke Holdens leg while playing in the Prem. Vile player.

Yeah, the Ben Arfa tackle was horrible, but it was disguised in some way by him as a tackle, ie at his legs where the ball was.

The one in the world cup final though was literally a mid air flying kick into the center of Alonso's chest. Biggest game in the world and foul was ridiculous when we actually saw the reply. Hence VAR is needed, that got a yellow.

Likely mostly teenage boys or otherwise impotent idiots - all needing an outlet for frustration...

Whilst I've little doubt that they are indeed keyboard warriors that would give me no comfort if it were myself and my family being targetting with this sort of abuse.

As I'm sure we're all aware this isn't a particular fanbase at fault here, all clubs have a percentage of "fans" like this and I hope the authorities find them and they are punished with criminal prosecutions. I don't care if it turns out half of them are kids (though as often as not it's adults doing this just as much).

Also, regarding the challenge. It was clearly a red and dangerous, I don't think there can be any doubt about that, but it's not like ones where the player just slides in and takes a chunk out of the opponent. He did actually get the ball, I don't watch that and think for a moment that Tarkowski means to go studs into McAllister, doesn't mean it's not a red but I'm not sure why it would provoke an emotional reaction against Tarkowski anyway.

Just taking a look at this weekends games and I must say that Sunday is looking Destastic.

With the exception of our match obviously.

De Bruyne off at the end of the season, no surprises though he's not at it anymore.

Great player in his day.

Might as well get rid of Haaland as well then, because he's about as much as ****ing useless without him. No point having Marmoush feeding him, when Marmoush is more than capable himself of scoring.

We'll take Haaland on a free, to help City out.
