I think we beat Liverpool last time we played them at Wembley in a big domestic cup so we're probably favourites.

Would quite like you to win if only to see what Jason Tindall does. Probably end up shagging a player’s wife in the toilets at the after party and the whole squad will fall apart.

Our playoff charge is sadly too important. Hope you win tonight anyway. Expect Ruud will roll over.

World has gone ****ing mad - seems we may get the chance to see our 'wonder kids' tonight - 15 year old Jeremy Monga and 16 year old Jake Evans - but they have to change separately to the rest of the team due to 'safeguarding issues' ... **** me! <doh>

My dad went to that. FA cup 1974

Pretty sure I've got a programme of it, with ticket stub. He kept everything!

You lost though, soz. Which you should know, given you've won **** all for seventy (70) years.

Good point but that's not the last time we played Liverpool at Wembley in a domestic cup!

(the last time we played them it was a 0-0 draw which we then won on penalties, I'll just leave that here and see if anyone bothers to find the match)

will be one of the silly domestic cups dreamed up because clubs were banned from Europe.

Now hang on a minute there was nothing at all silly about the mercantile credit cup 1988. We thrashed Liverpool 0-0 at Wembley in a 40 minute game (gloriously winning on penalties) and it's that kind of spirit I'm hoping we can recapture in March. As that's the last formal game we played against them at Wembley I think it's safe to say that we are the form team and history is on our side.

It wasn't the final though, it was the last 16. We were knocked out by ... erm ... the then non-league Tranmere Rovers in the quarters. Big fixtures in a proper tournament.
