I'm delighted for Eliott Anderson tbh. He struggled for gametime with us and I suspect he'd have been on the bench for much of the season if we'd kept him and yet he's showing he's a worthy Premiership player.

As for Matz Sels, I've no idea what became of the keeper we had a few years ago because he was ****e. It can't be the same guy.
Your fan base was largely critical of Chris Wood, if I remember rightly?

He’s never stopped banging them in since he moved there.

When Leicester won the league, they just kept knocking the long ball over the top for Vardy to run on to. It worked a treat for them. When something works, you just stick with it.

I think Forest look extremely well organised. The manager has blown me away. I thought he was ****e and destined to fail.

Well apart from Mahrez weighing in with nearly as many goals ... and Kante bossing the midfield against allcomers ...

So did Forest

Since promotion they've spent half a billion and even received a punishment for cheating

just like Everton did
The first season they came up, it was a net spend of nearly 200m. That’s what you have to do these days to change from a Championship squad to a premier league squad. Second season 44m. This is only the 3rd season and the net spend was 18m in the summer.

It’s an unbelievable achievement to come from the championship, have a net spend of about 250m over 3 seasons and be 2nd in the league.

You have a higher net spend than Forest since they’ve come up and the season before they come up you had a net spend of a further 130m. You should be streets ahead of them. Most clubs should.

Remember going to see Swansea v Leicester and Mahrez scored a hattrick. Me and my son had posh half way line seats, so great view of the whole pitch.

Was still a ball behind the defence, but it was as if they were all keeping an eye on Vardy and Mahrez just kept appearing in miles of space behind the full backs.

Told my son at the time, this lot can (will) win the league.

Didn't place a bet! <wah>

That some reply just because you’ve been corrected.

Corrected how? They have spent hundreds of millions of pounds, sold their championship stock and have seen success in the Premier League due to it.

They've been punished for breaking financial rules since promotion, just like Everton.

It ain't no fairytale before Christmas.

It's just a narrative the minnows like to bang on about because it gives them hope. Forest have one of the wealthiest owners in the English football pyramid. They spend lots of money, they do well cos they spend lots of money. That's it.

Some clubs spend lots of money and are still ****, Everton, for example.

Forest having wealthy owners is irrelevant.

Ipswich have spent well over 100m this season to change their squad from championship quality which would go straight back down to being able to fight for survival in the premier league. This is what you need to do these days just to survive.

500m might be Forests total spend (not sure) but the net spend is a little over half of that. For a newly promoted club to be sitting 2nd in the league in just their third season, with that net spend is an outstanding achievement and shouldn’t be downplayed.

They’re competing with all the big boys who have spent more than them since they’ve been promoted and who already had settled and strong premier league squads.

Forest net spend since turning the squad over in that first season is 62m. It’s incredible for them to be doing what they’re doing.

But I didn't say it wasn't an achievement, I said they've spent half a bil and received a punishment for cheating.

Some div on here insinuated that Forest hadn't spent money to achieve top 4, which they absolutely have.

When it comes to money, having a wealthy owner is absolutely important.

Technically cheating. It’s what needs to happen to give newly promoted teams a chance. It’s paid off for Forest. If and when we come back up, I think we’d have more chance of staying up if we spent 200m and took a 4pts deduction rather than trying to do it with a mainly championship quality squad.

62m net spend in two seasons since that first initial outlay in the first season to change from championship quality to premier league quality. It really isn’t a lot and should have them nowhere near the top 4.

If you type that out one more time a genie will pop out of a lamp.

Bloody Mary, bloody Mary, bloody Mary.
