I think they did for a bit but that team is on the wane again. No striker close to good enough, Robertson and McGinn both 30. McSauce and Gilmour can be a decent midfield for a few more years but nowhere near enough top players to seriously compete at tournaments.

Ireland have been a joke the last few years but there’s the makings of a decent side there now.
