Pretty ****ing stupid to do it in the first place. Regardless of what his mates have done.
He'll lose his job and rightly so as it's unprofessional to make comments like that.
I do think fans make more of this kind of thing than is realistic though. If a referee is professional then who gives a **** whether they like your club or not? Do all doctors like their patients or all solicitors like the clients they are being paid to represent? Nope. They're doing a job to the best of their ability.
Fans like to claim corruption and favouratism as it suits the childish "woe is me" understanding of the world - like pupil who get told off by a teacher "because they hate me" rather than because of their behaviour - when in reality referees just make mistakes as they're human beings. Do big clubs get more decisions? Probably yes, but there's a variety of reasons for that and referee corruption i don't think is one of them.
ps. Does anyone actually disagree with anything the guy said?
I thought it might be a look-a-like, but it's in pretty much every paper and he's been suspended.

Well yeah I do disagree but that's beside the point we all know that it's human nature to like or dislike certain teams but to get off your tits and do a video about it on social media is taking it a bit far.
Problem is if you don't like a club you'll **** them over. It's human decision making and inevitable.
I used to play various games against myself and I always had a preference as to which me won.

Almost all the people who become top refs happen to support clubs nowhere near the top division. Weird that. Almost like it’s statistically almost impossible and they’re lying and people should just get on with it.
I'd probably say something along the line of 'come on guys we've all been on nights out and ended up with a stranger that looks exactly like someone off the telly'.
