Because they didn't make Champions League and they wanted a long term deal, and without CL you don't get that (well the sort of deal they wanted) - so for financial reasons, no one wanted to commit to a one year deal, according to google anyway.

I’m sure I read they took a short term deal last season assuming they’d get Champions League and would be more valuable and now they’re in the European Simod Cup instead.
