Liverpool deserved their win.

Not sure what Chelsea were trying to do at times, constantly second to every ball. Just not convinced Palmer is being used to his best potential. Seems close by the scoreline but it was anything but.

Carrying those two plodders behind him (£150m or so) and Ali Dia up front isn’t easy. I like Madueke and Palmer obviously but some of their players are so unbelievably meh.

Just seen the Jon Stones goal against Wolves. Imo Silva is not offside because he's not blocking the keepers line of sight, and he's not offside from the corner (because you can't be) But he definitely impedes the Wolves goalie as the ball comes in, which means the GK isn't set properly as Stones heads it. So I think Wolves have got a good case for that to be chalked off for a foul on the GK.

It's literally from the corner.

It's one of those ones that could go either way, as you see players impeding the GK on a lot of corners and it goes unnoticed. But VAR are literally pouring over that to see if Silva is in a offside position, so you'd think they would see him nudging Sa off balance right before Stones heads it.

It's not clear cut, but I think Wolves have a decent case for it to be chalked off for a foul on Sa

Bit late for that mate, the match ended hours ago. Your stream must be buffering again.

Just another example of the rule being bent and the VAR being suckered by it.

Clearly, it's deliberate to be in the keepers space pre corner and then conveniently moves away as the ball is delivered. Of course he's involved, obviously. What the **** else is he doing there?

Ludicrous to even suggest the keeper isn't at least considering what Silva is going to do. Ergo, involved. And offside.

Not enough contact there's imo we'd further ruin an already ****ed game by giving those.

I've been at band practice.

But yeah, he's interfering with play.

It staggers me that we've got commentators working for Sky saying he's not involved in play.

Some of them, like Gary Neville, who used to actually play this very same game not too long ago.

What's he doing there if he's not involved?

The whole involved with play nonsense is exactly that anyway. If you're on the pitch close to other players then you're impacting the play in some way and if you're not then wtf are you doing.

Just go back to offside being offside. The games laws are subjective enough as it is.

Chief is bang on about city's goal

@Libby heres that goal that was disallowed for us last year because mo was interfering with the keepers line of sight.
You must log in or register to see media
Except he was pushed into the offside position unlike city's player today just being there but not interfering with the keepers line of sight <laugh>

Bent af

If he wasn't interfering with play Brian Clough would have substituted him immediately

VAR has made what used to be straightforward decisions into subjective ones

Curtis Jones was superb today great all round performance, guy needs to start doing that all the time.
If you recall he was slots 1st choice pre injury, and that's been his problem even under klopp,he gets a few games in and then another knock.

It's a shame because he's a proper decent player when he gets into his rhythm.

Brilliant today both attacking and defending.
