A rare slip Ponks and now corrected as I'm a bit of a grammar Nazi myself ... but the point stands - if Maddison stays fit - they've a better squad than the ones he played in when we finished fifth, and they are way more fluid now than in the days of slo-mo Harry - and they look much better defensively and in terms of overall squad depth <cheers>

It's actually the second time I've picked up on that grammatical abhorration Fosse, but I'm encouraged to see that you've now addressed it.

Not sure the comparison stands regarding Maddison playing in a better team that your one that finished 5th, ergo Spurs will finish 4th or higher. The thing with Spurs, is that they can be good on their day, but they can also look like utter **** for large parts of the season. They also don't recover well after a bad result and it can take them 3, 4 or 5 games to get back to their feet. I also think Fat Ange is pretty one dimensional, and if teams get their tactics right Spurs don't seem to have a plan B

They've not really been tested yet this season having played two of the weaker teams in the PL.

I've said on our board that if a few stars align, I fancy Brighton gatecrashing top four this season, they're probably targetting top six/ seven as it is but think they could go a bit further if things go right. Already made some smart signings, their new manager will no doubt be some genius and follow in Potter and De Zerbi's footsteps, only playing once a week again and Mitoma's back fit who for me is one of the top tier ballers in the league.

We play Brighton next and that will be a tough game.

Then we go to your place ...

Anyone been to Salisbury? Southampton fans?

The mighty top of the league Bwood are there tomorrow and never been so might make a day of it. Heard it’s posh and pleasant.

Watching MOTD ... tell you what, if Maddison stays fit, Spurs will be in for a very good season ...

OK it was against this season's whipping boys yesterday... but there was a lovely fluidity and purpose in Spurs' football ... could be a good contest between the North London teams Citeh and Pool... United have to improve markedly... but both Brighton and Villa looking very good too ...

Nah...Everton were awful...so bad that they made us look good for a whole match for the first time this calendar year

Went to the ground once years ago but can't remember much except that it seemed pointless paying as there's a 6 foot wall which would be easy enough to jump. Banging burger van inside ground.

This must be coming up to 20 odd years ago mind.

They'll go Spursy.

But apart from that, your misplaced apostrophe is bothering me. The possessive on a name ending in s should go after the s.

i.e Spurs'

I know you're a stickler for detail so please don't let me catch you making this mistake again. :bandit:

Technically both are right...just saying!

And as for us going spursy ... that is as definite as night follows day ......

Or Arsenal going 10 points ahead and still losing out on the title :bandit:

Two years running :bandit:

After blowing a 6 point lead with 3 games to go to lose 4th place...to spurs :bandit:

Maybe I’ll just look at Tripadvisor.

'mon Wolves

Hate to do this Ponky ... but please reconsider your nonsensical use of the esteemed apostrophe in that post ... if you were attempting an abbreviation of the phrase 'come on' you cannot make up a new word 'mon' ... the apostrophe has to replace a letter or letters in either of the actual words involved...

... as such ... you have been weighed, measured... and found wanting <cheers>

It's just a slang abbreviation Fosse, rather than your heinous apostrophe abuse incident earlier.

Can see how it's affected you though <laugh>

Fosse starting an argument over punctuation wasn’t expected. Feels a bit like Afghanistan lecturing the world on human rights or Jermaine Jenas on workplace etiquette.

<doh> ... I know you're slow, but have a look at the early morning posts on this thread (again) ... the punctuation debate was not started by me ... good lad....
