No chance we appoint Gareth though. When the owners were fresh through the door the top two choices they had to replace Bruce were Howe and Emery (who turned us down) - that gives me confidence they know what they're doing as both were solid options. I suspect they'll already have names in mind in case the FA do lure Howe away.

I’d be happy with Howe as England gaffer. Think he’d get a lot more out of the players and therefore improve chances of success.

Garry weren’t available back then though when you chased Howe/ Emery. He knows the North East a fair bit too. Could be one to watch, mate <whistle>
