I fancy our chances as much against Netherlands as I did against Denmark, draw or a single goal deciding it. Always nice though if we could give the oppo a battering. I'm hoping that Southgate has been playing mindgames all this time, and he gets the bare minimum without giving too much away, but that's me hoping he's going to pull some psychological blinder and we come away with a trophy, dreams eh.
I’m just down about the England team after that performance last night and I’m usually positive about us. It’ll pass and we’ll be the best team in the world again by the time we kick off on Sunday.

I really thought that Southgate would mix it up last night in terms of playing style and players on the pitch but it was just more of the same. It feels like one of them occasions where we’ve finished top in spite of Southgate and not because of him. I’m hoping the better opposition makes us lift our game to the standard we know these players can play at.

He can do what he wants, I just don't see how results from a decade ago or more, in friendlies, will have any bearing on this tournament.

Fosse will likely be in here 28 years from now talking about Leicesters Premier league title too I guess :p

That would be most unlikely... I'd be 93 and the men in my family don't really do longevity...Father 49, Two grandfathers 60 and two of the old girls brothers 43 and 50... ... but believe me, if I am, you and the rest of the Not3digit IQs on here will still be getting both barrels <whistle>

I wholeheartedly agree with you mate. I've said many a time on here where the selections are wrong in my opinion. It just winds me up when I see Chelsea fans having a pop, the same Chelsea fans that were booing their team last season. Then they have the front to say well I'm not really interested in England anyway lol. Then Chief jumps in with a snide comment, part of which had nowt to do with me - the guy don't even normally engage with me, but wants to pop in to be snide. I'm like you Saf if people want to have a go, I'm going to give some back. Southgate needs to sort himself out BUT we are through so I'll accept small miracles and be grateful for them, afterall can be no worse than the ****te my club has treated me to a whole lifetime, well apart from when we took a load of glory hunters on in the Championship years.....not as bad as Chelsea fans though....oh and Spurs...and...

Penalty to Romania after a VAR check. Initially thought they’d give a free kick tbh.

Scored, superb penalty, game on!

So because I support Chelsea and you are bored you decided to be a contrarian and start bringing up stats from friendlies from 20 years ago as some reason why England fans shouldnt expect their team to play well?
And WTF does me supporting Chelsea, or anyone else and whatever team they support, have to do with anything when we are discussing England?

<laugh> christ

Nope I just remember you previously moaning about your own team, Chelsea, despite me saying to you I thought they looked a good team, which I was proven right, until you daft fookers sacked your manager...this is how ridiculous football has become. Then you was on the bandwagon again, this time about England and I merely was pointing out to you we qualified from the group. Everyone seems to want to put the boot into Gareth, despite us getting through to the next stage unbeaten. Some views are very valid, yours are not and never will be.
