I was enthralled when Ronaldinho scored his toe poke against Chelsea in the CL back in 2005, and that was against my own team.
Yep, a decision made on the back of a similar level of fan entitlement, decades of being **** and after a couple of good seasons it's "we should be Europe every season." Though in his last half season we conceded 5 v Fulham & Palace and 6 v Arsenal, those sealed his fate.

I really wouldnt care all that much if England had been knocked out. Like I said, I generally watch England with half hearted support.
Usually during international breaks I am more pissed that it has interrupted the PL schedule
