It's pretty telling that there's currently a poll up on the Newcastle page over "who should play left back" for us. There's four options, all English, and none of them are Kieron Trippier.

and that bell end Rory Jennings saying "Oh Lineker is just slagging off england to be controversial" when he makes 10 Youtube videos a week saying "Get Southgate out now" he even said "I thought the BBC were supposed to be neutral" <laugh>
Politically neutral you ****ing mug! Not when it comes to football <doh>

But the defence looks good even if Trippier offers nothing going forwards.

Trippier will get torn apart as soon as we come up against any team with real pace and trickery out wide ...

The problem with having both Trippier and Kane in the side currently is that both slow down attacking movement in the final third and allow defenders to get back in position ...

The mid-table end of season 0-0 nobody wants. Gutted the one weekend I can’t do we’ve got Luton away.
At least it’s in May. Weather should be good. We can make a weekend of it. I’ll give you a tour of the Jewish ghetto in Gateshead and then I’ll take you to the Greggs superstore. Oh what fun we’ll have.

I actually would quite like to see the community in Gateshead but not enough for a dead rubber. Need Boro to complete my Championship set and they’ve put it midweek. Swansea away Boxing Day. Pretty grim list of fixtures when you see all the **** places in this league.

Classic comment from Kane in the post match "...there's enough ability in this team to push on..." no admission that it's turgid **** and that changes need to be made if we are not to go out with a whimper...

Indeed.
Am even hearing people slag off Lineker and Shearer for talking about England being poor and needing to do better, saying its not helping the team and to get behind them.
They are football pundits ffs, it is literally their job to watch, analyse and comment on, football games and give their opinions on the performances put before them.
What are they supposed to do? Sit there with fake smiles saying England are awesome as they fight out a 0-0 draw with Slovenia?
And as for Kane's comments, yes they didnt win anything as players with England, so what? That gives you all a pass to be ****?
****ing idiot.

If Lineker, Shearer and Wright weren't admitting how crap we are they'd look like complete and utter muppets ... not 'expert pundits'...

I couldn’t really pick out any fixtures that I didn’t fancy. This looks to be the weakest the championship has been for quite for some years. I fancy Leeds and Coventry to be up at the top. Can’t see any of the promoted sides finishing top half. The relegated sides look quite weak this time around.

There other BBC headline that made me chuckle today was...

How Man Utd 'laughing stock' Rangnick restored reputation with Austria

Why is he a laughing stock? Because the players acted like spoiled little twats imo and he didn't do a lot wrong.

lol laughing stock?
They paid him to manage the team for a few months then give his opinions on the squad to the board for the next incoming manager.
By all accounts, he reported his findings, and the board scoffed and said it'd be too expensive to fix the squad and so dumped him and took none of his advice on board.

They go on to suggest he's restored his reputation. Couldn't make it up.

Depends if Cov can hold on to their better players - we are constantly being linked with Callum O'Hare who is, I think, out of contract now ...

They got rid of their better players last season but bought well and finished strongly. They’re spending good money again for this level and seem to have a good transfer policy in place.

I think you’ve got Bellingham and Foden the wrong way around, mate. Foden is the one player we’ve got who looks like he’s going to make things happen. Bellingham is bang out of form, at the moment.

I think there is a case to be made to drop both of them.

Bellingham for looking understandably exhausted after a very long season.

Foden simply because I can't see where he fits in the team without leaving it unbalanced.

Austria are neat, tidy, and very aggressive with their press ... they also have some real quality with the likes of Sabitzer and Baumgartner... quality that has actually turned up!!

He’s managed for 40 years and probably made more out of a brief bit of consulting at United than the five years before. Has had a higher win % in every other job he’s had.
