Ah the old use of a still which proves nothing <laugh>

If you actually watch it, he only grabbed the shirt on the way down after the defender took out his leg. Even your still shows that.

The vast majority in the game say it's a stonewall pen, there's no need to go all Prometheus on this Ern.

It’s a clear pen. Not sure why it wasn’t given.

This is before the rest of the contact, the scottish commentator reporting on the game immediately after the replay said "no pen", the vast majority of people commenting on it say "no pen" but Shearer and lineker say it is, despite the clear evidence that the shirt pull was the first 'contact' and that he's being pulled over, you still want to stick with it?
I think you should stop watching things on screens, I don't think you comprehend fully what you see on them, it was a clear attempt to win a penalty instead of going for the goal, a la Saka.

The thought of Trippier facing the Spanish, French, German or Belgian (to name the obvious ones - there are more) wide players should be sufficient to give every England fan the pre-match squits ... we'll be fine mind - the non-match fit Luke Shaw will be available by then <yikes>

... if only we had Kalvin Phillips too <laugh>

Luke Shaw will tower over the left of the park like an English Che Guevara <ok>

No way was that a penalty to Scotland, last night. Ref and VAR were spot on.

Bit of optimism creeping back in, after that lacklustre performance the other day? Fair play mate. We’re England ffs, why shouldn’t we believe?
Exactly mate.

Nothing we do is going to affect what the players do on the pitch. We have two choices, positivity or doom and gloom. The latter isn’t any good for the soul and if we do win it feeling like that, it’ll be like a feeling of relief and astonishment. What’s the point?

I’d rather have the thrill of believing we can do it and supporting them all the way. Victory is all the more sweeter when you feel like your support and positivity has reaped rewards.

was a pen for me from looking at the highlights. Instinct was a pen as well.

needed a few goes to see the leg contact though with armstrong simulataneously pulling on his shirt so i'm sort of happy that VAR didn't intervene as i don't want it intervening on poxy 70/30 pen decisions. Only on 100% and let the on field ref make the decisions

My issue is why are some decisions looked at forensically and others not? We’ve seen penalties given when nothing looks suspect at all at first glance. Then you see 10 replays on super slow motion and the penalty is given. This one wasn’t one of those and penalty should have been given

yeah, we have the right players.

its just a shame who our manager is lol
Yep. Our time is now. It was the last euros but he blew it. We need to get rid of these dinosaurs managing the national side and bring in someone young and modern like the other countries are doing.

So far this has mirrored the last Euros a bit. Scraped a 1-0 in the first game followed by a draw in the second match with a poor performance followed by loads of (not unjustified) negativity. We didn't really get going at all until the Germany game and then we were hard to stop.

Granted we've been shocking so far but momentum can change very quickly in these tournaments and that's why Tuesday is massive for me. Really need an improved performance and comfortable win or I think we'll struggle to turn it around in the knockout rounds.

We’re both used to supporting teams where hope is often the only thing you’ve got. Supporting England is easy when you’ve followed Saints all your life

All hinges on tomorrow really.

He can keep it simple and make two changes; Bellingham moves back and replaces TAA, Foden goes to 10 and Gordon on the left.

Or he could be proper innovative and actually drop TAA and replace with Mainoo or Wharton, and drop Foden and replace with Gordon, and then Bellingham stays at ten. And I'd also say Palmer for Saka, but that's just me knowing Palmer is twice the player and should be given a game.

If he keeps on with his TAA experiment and we continue to stink the place out, he deserves everything coming his way.

Meanwhile trents peers continue to enthusiastically back him, despite chief and his team of not 606 tactical geniuses looking for a reason why England will fail again, any other reason bar them being bang average that is.

Exactly. We get a glimpse of what it’s like to support one of the teams at the top. It’s just a shame we seem to be the Tottenham of international football.

Nope that picture is after the contact. You can see the left leg has buckled after the defender's gone into his calf and he's grabbing the shirt as Both are going down. Anyway who gives a fck. I'm not a jock, I don't give a fck either way and I don't really care whether they won or not. You seem to be taking this far too seriously lol much like the film thread. Relax mate not everything is that important.
