English fans are always a disgrace and deserve nothing but disappointment tbh

I have to admit - there are a minority who are an embarrassment ... but they are a minority - that 200,000 jocks can descend on a city for days, drink it dry and be waived off with goodwill and affection is testament to what supporting your country should really mean ...

I'd noticed over the last couple days the difference in reporting when it comes to England fans. Scotland fans oh what a great bunch they are, all having fun, and similar for other nations. When it came to Englands lot, it was clearly from the off, reporting along the lines of when will the trouble start.

Yet Scottish fans were arrested, Serbian fans were also arrested, but England or something.

Foden needs to be played where he will be most effective... or saved to come on there as a sub ... sure he wasn't helped by the left back situation but that really isn't the point - I'm just not buying that Eze wouldn't have been way more effective in that left sided position tonight ...

So basically, don't play him out of position. Good point.

Southgate is just shoehorning players into the team because he thinks they should play, TAA in the centre of midfield is an abomination, especially considering he had three players who actually play in that position sitting on the bench. If he wants "Trent" ( TM Alan Shearer on repeat) in the team, play three at the back and use wing backs, he'd be decent there.

Same with Foden, if Bellingham is in his way at 10 then don't just play him somewhere else, stick him on the bench. It's the type of thing Eriksen used to do with Paul Scholes, it does not work.

This is why we're all 'moaning', because the alarm bells are ringing that Southgate will blow this.

But like Slurps said, it's just the first game and hopefully we grow into this tournament. Main thing is that the lads have got the first game out of the way with a win <ok>

What?

Slurps said we are going to go out on a whimper <laugh>

I agree with a lot of what you say - but the Scottish arrests were, as far as I can see, because a few got rather too pissed - so drunk and disorderly - not for what looked like clashes between 'firms' like the running battle footage being shown yesterday on the News - which, admittedly might have been rather 'selective' ...

This is the kind of english delusion Liverpool fans of the 90s would be proud of.

Youve won one thing about 60 years ago and even that was a dodgy goal on home soil.

The entitlement is really off the charts this euros tho so im looking forward to the inevitable disappointment for the nation. Again.

There is no delusion because there is no expectation, well certainly not on my part - however, we won last night, it wasn't pretty but we got the same outcome as Germany (minus the GD) in the end. Bearing in my mind the Scots just rolled over. I'd rather not be over confident, but as I said last night we still have quality players on the bench, yes it all depends on what Southgate does with them, but at this moment in time we are top of our group with three points just like the Germans.

It was selective mate and as far as I understood seven fans were arrested, all Serbian I believe. Like everyone I do wish our fans would grow up, but I just feel it's a bit unfair when the Scots and other nations are highlighted as some sort of example, despite three of them (Scots) attacking a 22 year old woman.

Leave the England chat to England fans, mate.

You’ve probably got some more crying over Pep and City to do anyways.

If Southgate wants ‘Arnold’ in the side play a back three and have him at RWB.
If not, in the bin he goes.

That’s more a case of poor or biased reporting though because as Brb said there’s been arrests for the Scots.

Three were arrested for assaulting a woman before the Germany game. Yet that doesn’t seem to get anywhere near the same level of attention as the English and Serbs.

England fans haven't caused trouble at a major tournament abroad in donkeys years. Yet somehow the narrative that we're the worst fans in Europe seems to persist.

Probably at least ten nations who are worse behaved than us. Likely much more.

Need something to put in the news. Not like there’s much going on here or around the world.

Romania v Ukraine today. Should be a right lark on the streets.

Spot on. When anyone else but England fans get pissed and urinate in a fountain, it’s high spirits; if they’re English, it’s hooliganism

We only have to go back to the old home nation games to know what Scottish fans are like, did they ever return our goalposts lol. Not to mention the old firm derbies, but somehow they are the example to aspire to, fooking hell.
