As I said - Pep has won 4 PL titles on the bounce with a squad costing the same as yours - in contrast you've only won the one since the new league competition evolved from the old football league - despite spending an astronomical amount ...

Rest of the football World just accepts that those that spend the most have the best chance of success - same as it ever was - no point crying about it ...

If you really want 'Fair Play' simply apply a universal cap on transfers in a season (net spend) across the league - and get an annual guarantee from each club owner to underwrite that amount ... proper level playing field then <cheers>

Bloody hell Fosse, did you manage to type that with a straight face. You’ve done nothing but cry about how unfair it is <laugh>

^^^^^

This - the myth that the dominant Liverpool of the 80s somehow organically evolved from Wirral Boys Club FC is just that - a myth.

Liverpool were able to cherry pick the very best British players every season due to the bang in their buck - these were players at the top of their game - not a gamble on youth - Dalglish, Beardsley, Souness, Houghton, Aldridge, Lawrensen, McMahon, Ray Kennedy, Gillespie and their ilk did not end up at Anfield due to the love of a bowl of scouse and a penchant for Gerry and the Pacemakers ... <laugh>

The bit you always fail to mention is that Leicester had the same opportunity to sign those type of players, the rules at the time were the same for all. The simple fact is that at the time Leicester either couldn’t afford them or weren’t successful enough to attract them.

It's not so much the money but the fact City have 2 first teams as a squad. I don't think any club has ever been in this position, not Livpl, not United in their .

Not sure I totally agree with that. I remember going to see a pre-season friendly against Utd who had another team out at another pre-season friendly and thinking, **** me either of these 2 Utd teams could win the PL

<wah>

"Please can somebody bring in some rules to stop other clubs spending as much as us? - especially clubs with managers who are better than ours - it's just not fair!!!"

4 in a row

1 with an asterisk

<laugh>

Bebe was awesome tbf.

I’m trying to rack my brains to what year that was, but I remember it being a bloody impressive squad <laugh>

It would be interesting to see but I bet those squad players weren't shipped out and replaced so often. You could hit gold, the stars align and you manage it for a short time and even that's rare.
My point was that City have been able to have two first 11's for a sustained period by buying and selling in every transfer window in any position they need. It's unsustainable for any other club, certainly not to maintain the squad depth to the same or better standard for so long.

True
I remember Brian Clough back in the day saying more or less this .
He said Liverpool have cornered the market and it's hard to compete but sometimes you unhearth a little gem .

The only thing I agree with Fosse on regarding FFP is how the **** City are flouting it in full view.
