It's the idea that someone hasn't reached the peak until they have a medal.

Shearer dragging Blackburn to a Premier League gives him some credit.

But he still didn't win much and people put him down for that.

that Blackburn side was pretty decent to be fair.

Players like Shearer, Kane and Le Tissier were top class, but they chose the wrong clubs if they wanted trophies.

Not saying that's right or wrong, but just an observation.

Which people? Not to my knowledge ... most seem to think he's England's best modern era centre forward ... irrespective of Harold Le Pen's and San Marino Wayne's scoring feats ...

He shouldn't have wasted the best part of his career at Spurs if that was such a big issue.

This part is certainly true.
If its trophies you seek, then dont spend the bulk of your career at the club reknowned for having a trophy curse.
Any club in the PL would have taken him, Chelsea, United, City etc and most clubs in Europe.......he decides to wait until he is 30 to make a move.
He will likely grab a trophy or two if he stays at Bayern for another couple of years, so no need for people who are invested in Kane to panic.

wtf <laugh>

I know - whilst I don't really subscribe to the often touted claim that 'Blackburn bought the league' (United and Liverpool were still the biggest spenders) it is fair to say that 'Uncle Jack' Walker gave Dalglish something of an open chequebook enabling signings of top end players like Shearer, Sutton, Batty, Sherwood, Hendry, Le Saux and Flowers none of whom, I suspect, would have joined Rovers without Dalgish selling Jack's dream and his willingness to pay top dollar salaries ...

They did

Immortalised at their clubs tho aren't they, so I mean it depends how you weigh it up.

Some of these City players no one will give a **** about them in 20 years, no matter the cups

....Tony Gale. 35, never won anything, considered surplus to requirement at West Ham, wins the league.
and?
There's superfluous players in every title winning team!
Robert Huth won 2 PL medals at Chelsea and didnt feature a lot.
Look at players like David May at Man United! He got 2 PL titles, 2 FA Cups and a CL, and only featured a handful of times for United.

Doesnt mean Shearer "dragged" Blackburn to their title, their first XI was solid!

A man who had sex with his mother in "disgusting" offences has walked free from court.

He had been estranged from his mother as a child but after coming back to the North East he slept with her on a number of occasions when she was drunk. Newcastle Crown Courtheard the man, who cannot be named because his mother has lifelong anonymity as a victim of a sex offence, was cleared of raping his mother after a trial but pleaded guilty to two offences of having sexual intercourse with an adult relative.

Daniel Cordey, prosecuting, said the woman was drinking heavily at the time of the offences. He told the court: "In her words, he started to take advantage of her sexually.”

"She would often binge drink and would be very drunk. Against that background, he was drinking as well. He had sex with her at least five times."

The man, of Newcastle, who is known to be a local season ticket holder at St James Park, was sentenced to a two-year community order with rehabilitation and told he must sign the sex offenders register for five years.

It’s a lack of ambition on the part of Shearer and Le Tissier. It’s the reason they aren’t regarded and talked about as greats. They never challenged themselves at the top clubs surrounded by world class players. At least Kane has gone to an elite club to see if he can handle it and to win trophies. He’s not done it this season but he’ll clean up, next season.
