Did anyone else know there was a rivalry here? Sounds class. Millwall fans the other day got done for helicopter gestures.

<laugh> ... you Londoners ... there's a big world out there ...

One of my mates is from Nuneaton (not the prettiest town in the UK) - it lies just over the Leicestershire border in Warwickshire but its football fan base is split between Leicester and Cov ... always a fun night out after a M69 Derby...

Funny thing about Leicester is the 'rivalries' - and having only one club in the county - if you come from the west of Leicestershire (Hinckley, Burbage etc) then Cov attract the most 'hate' the North, Melton, Loughborough, Ashby and Coalville is split between Forest and Derby but the first 2 most re Forest - the City itself is more ambivalent although Forest would edge it ...

Who are QPR's rivals? ... Barnet?

Keep your blouse on, Foss. Nobody gives a **** about one club cities in the arse end of nowhere, hence asking if anyone else was aware of it as it sounds like it’ll be lively despite not being particularly local to each other.

Imagine being banned from your clubs stadium for drawing a helicopter crash on a bedsheet. Absolute muppets.

Though wearing crocs should be an executable offence in itself.

Seen there is a club statement - just says we are working with Cov ... rivalry goes back a long time and it has been a long held 'urban myth' that when the Ricoh was being built one of the builders, a Leicester fan, buried a Leicester shirt under the centre circle and that this 'curse' had some responsibility for Coventry's well documented subsequent demise <laugh>

Steep rake helps but won't replace the intimacy of an old ground. It'll be nice and shiny I'm sure but some of your soul will be gone forever.

will just have to see. Fingers crossed that the larger ‘end’ behind the goal generates the atmosphere/better sounding like the single level, cheap bowls like Leicester etc have.
Plus it will have over 10k more fans in, unless it’s against Newcastle….:emoticon-0105-wink:

Just over 20 miles ya knobhead - closer by 10 then Liverpool is to Manchester (no rivalries there) ...<laugh>

My best mate is from Cov - his oldest lad is my godson and my youngest is his goddaughter... my cousin is also from a place called Earl Shilton close to the Warwickshire border - he could drive to Cov as quickly as driving to us in Leicester ...

I've always felt a bit for Coventry and their demise due to their owners SISU very nearly purchasing us instead of Liebherr when we went into admin and relegated to L1.

Last 15 years could have been very different for us had that happened!

Soon be adding 10,000 more seats to ours and being mooted that we could see safe standing areas introduced too ... hope so

Coventry v Leicester.
It’s the two men fighting over a comb derby.

I'm quite enjoying the efforts some fans go to trying to suggest we're fairweather fans or glory hunters. We averaged over 51k fans in the Championship and haven't won anything in 50+ years but bless them for trying.

Commentator life long Gills supporter and at one point a director of the club. We repay him by naming our away end after him lol

Naming a temporary stand after somebody has to be one of the most insulting tributes you can possibly get lol.

In fairness it was named with the intention of that stand being completed at the same time as the rest of the ground, but then ondigital/itv digital went under.

But you are right it's an insult to a great memory.

On the funny side, they should have named that end 'The Medway Stand,' to mark what a shhite hole Gillingham is, and used his name for the main stand in place of the TMS..
