VAR powers to be extended?

The Times are reporting that football's lawmakers Ifab could discuss extending VAR powers to improve decision-making accuracy on free-kicks, second yellows, corners.

The report says a working group established by Fifa has been looking into whether video assistant referees should have greater responsibilities - but there are fears it could lead to even longer delays.


imo the VAR experiment has shown that it creates as many mistakes as simply leaving it to the ref to decide. There's been no improvement and no consistency added, just another layer of subjective decision making.

The only thing I would change is extending the goal line tech to include all of the touchlines, so that there's no debate about whether the ball is still in play... and I'd give Arsenal another point and dock newcastle 2 for the daylight robbery at St James park <whistle>

Even sucky didnt waffle on about Liverpools British EPL title win as much as Fosse has.

but his small club, well that’s the zenith.

BTW I'd want us to lose tonight if I didn't follow Newcastle it's all good fun...I enjoy the sufferings of others and can take my own.

Keep holding on to the hope that we won't win anything.... you've got to have hope.

I guess our last title is still something I remember seeing, the worst ****ing trophy ever it was too. Will Newcastle see one in your lifetime, in mine, in Fosse.

Yes we probably will but like I say you have to play this card as much as you can and hold onto it as much as you can. I understand.

Once it's gone I will be intolerable.

People haven’t had to hope Newcastle don’t win since rationing was still about. For reference that’s when Fosse first floated the idea of digital currency and the Euro to his bosses.
