We are without 6 definite starters and 4 squad players. No spurs fan expected us to beat villa who are a decent team.
We're getting good football no matter who plays ( or how stupidly we get players sent off. )
As for sure fans always expect to win the league
Players we had unavailable for our game against Chelsea yesterday, I've underlined the ones who are probably 1st teamers:
Defence: Targett, Burn, Botman, Hall, Kraft, Manquillo
Midfield: Willock, Tonali, Longstaff, Anderson
Attack: Barnes, Murphy, Wilson
We won 4-1 and it could have been more.
Barnes ain't getting anywhere near that 11 with Gordon at the club now. Kids on fire.
In all honesty you are 2 years ahead of us in terms of building a squad and an identity as a team.
We have a new manager, a complete change of footballing style (thank ****) and a completely new team.
We simply do not have the players to replace;
Romero, Van de Ven, Solomon, Bissouma, Maddison and Sarr and they are all starters.
Today we were without all of them plus Bentencur was kicked out of the game by Cash after 30 mins. So we were without 6 first choice players for the match and lost another for the last hour.
Then there's peresic and Richarlison missing from the bench.
I ain't moaning ... it just is what it is.
I'm happy cos I see real promise in that we have a style of play that now runs through the squad, we have got players coming back, the club seem to have a plan for January and we are enjoyable to watch.
On another day we could have scored 4 in the first half today so as long as I like what we are doing I am happy with spurs.
