Taken over from Newcastle in the race for near the top after few games trophy, bravo.

Must be a massive plus being knocked out the only tournament you had even half a chance of winning in the first round too, very impressive.

In fairness after 4 years of park the bus ****e you can't blame us for creaming ourselves now we are playing some decent football.

The thing that truly puzzled me was bringing on Johnny Evans and Maguire.

Aside from Brentford, you have only played relegation candidates so far though innit

But we've debated that over and over. The line has to be drawn SOMEWHERE. If the rule is 'daylight' then all you're doing is shifting the line 10cm. You'd still have players who are offside by 1mm who then would still be whinging he was off. What difference does it matter? The line will be somewhere and sometimes you'll be 1mm over it.

Unless you think VAR shouldn't do offsides.

I've actually given up even trying to understand the offside rule. When I first saw it without the aid of var, I thought it was offside, then var intervened like it does and also gave offside, but I thought whooa hang on now, that looks more onside to me. We've got at least five guys up in the var room, along with all the officials on the pitch, the system plainly isn't working, we might as well go back to how we use to do it for all the arguments it causes, let alone the cost. The whole system is a joke.

VAR is for clear and obvious errors. No one used to complain at those bring given as goals.
If you can't tell in a few seconds without a line then it ain't a clear and obvious error.

Pre VAR the issue was about obvious errors now it seems they are looking for excuses to rule out goals.

The way VAR is used is only good for fans to wum each other

Said this from the beginning. It's all its good for because it's so inconsistent. So all that's left is for VAR **** ups to provide wumming material.

I thought we got lucky with that offside, to me it looks level. But I ain't complaining because we've had more that our fair share of VAR robberies

But ultimately, it is just riddled with mistakes

offside isn't covered in the supposed "clear and obvious" guidance it is considered a "matter of fact".
I never wanted VAR and always said it would be a **** show .and on offside pointless particularly as our linesmen were excellent ,with the exception of the occasional howler often due to someone being so offside they never even noticed them ,which could be done in seconds using the normal TV feed .

It shouldn't have in this instant, as it was clearly not off side in real time.

The only time it even looks remotely off is if someone freezes it and draws a line, as you say, 1mm in favour of the other.

Any decent linesman doing a job and that's on. VAR should only be used if clear doubt.

It's used for everything in the premier league.

They are re refereeing every game from some room somewhere, couple of clueless dicks playing at you're the ref ffs.

The Offside rule was instigated to stop players trying to gain "unfair advantage".
Wearing bigger boots, having a longer nose or simply being faster of foot than the opposition is not gaining unfair advantage.

Did you not spot the injuries?

Who was he supposed to bring on, the sub keeper?

United were willing to sell Maguire to West Ham and I don't get the thinking behind the Johnny Evans signing.
I am surprised that United have to rely on those as back up particularly as neither are particularly fast against a very pacey arsenal team.

What took so long for your lot to bring on Jesus, he was clearly the difference in the two sides once he came on.

He's just back from injury, but you can see the difference that he makes.
