Are you a reincarnation of that Sammy Spastic that used to be on the Toon board?
I think I'm correct in saying it's the 7th highest in the Premiership, which is not an insane position for us to occupy (baring in mind when others renew theirs the'll be higher too and we delayed this until we secured the Champions League).
The telling part, and bit which I can foresee happening a lot, is that we were apparently balancing offers around the £20-25m mark and then "got an offer" of £5m more from a Saudi company. It feels like they are trying to stay just inside the lines (unlike City did) and just add a few million to the highest legitimate offer they've had in - keep it close enough to make it hard to argue it isn't a fair offer but adding a bit here and there. It comes across as suspicious and I'd want it to be investigated for it's authenticity and how the value was assessed.
